About this listen

DCI Craig Gillard will be pushed to his limits. But will he break? It seems like a routine disappearance, a case of musician’s stage fright. As a senior detective, Craig Gillard isn’t sure why he’s even involved. Until it turns out the woman’s father is the German minister of justice, and the British home secretary is on the case, too.

But nothing about the case is simple. How does a woman on a train simply vanish? What do you do when a trail runs cold and the pressure is on?

Before long the perpetrator has another target: DCI Gillard himself. What if the detective isn’t just running the case but is part of it? The victim merely a lure for a bigger fish.

The answer is under the bridge. The chilling setting for the biggest challenge of his life.

The latest DCI Gillard Crime Thriller is a knockout: fast and completely gripping, perfect for fans of Stuart Macbride, Mark Billingham and Robert Bryndza.

Much, much better than the last 2.

Nick Louth redeemed himself with this exciting, spine tingling thriller. Loads of twists and turns. Looking forward to the next one.

Poor sound quality again

2nd book in series which was recorded either with different equipment or sound room than other books. Volume was affected as well.

Never Disappointed!

This book like all Gillard books was really riveting. A very complicated crime story paired with equally compelling personal ones.

Only thing I would change is something’s the reader changed the volume too much for different characters

Fantastic listen!

An entertaining police procedural with many twists and turns. Although it is #4 or #5 in the series it stands on its own, Excellent narration.

One of Nick Louth’s best DCI Gilllard books

Love the DCI Craig Gillard character and have listened to many of the books but this was one of the best so far. Great plot with many layers and twists all seamlessly woven together with wonderful narration. A gripping book hard to put down. Highly recommend.

At least there wasn’t mistaken identity of bodies in this book

I was getting very tired of that device.
Mr. Louth, you need to study music literature before you make music references in another book. JS Bach never wrote a string Quartet. In fact he never even knew what a string quartet wise. The string quartet was developed by Haydn, Father of the String Quartet, several years after JS Bach’s death.
Just for your information and to improve your books. Don’t forget that we classically trained musicians are fans of your writing also.
