About this listen

Some people need killing, but Derwood Flynn is retired and doesn't do that sort of thing anymore. He wants a quiet life, rebuilding the broken relationship with his teenage daughter. When a hurricane ravages the landscape and washes a murder victim from the failing dam of a local lake, Derwood teams with vivacious DA Maggie Kidd to uncover a decades-old conspiracy of death and deception.

The Body in the Dam is a 78,000-word mystery/thriller set in a small town in North Carolina.

Lots of twists as to the real killers. Very descriptive about the area this story took place in.

Excellent!!!

I was told this was a great book, but never heard of the author. Felt like a combination of Brad Thor, Michael Connelly, and the original Vince Flynn novels. Really well done. At the end, my heart was pounding and I really wasn’t sure of how the book was going to end. Lots of twists and turns. Very creative. Living near Fort Bragg, I hear the Guns of Freedom at night and I’m filled with pride. Now, I will be thinking about the characters in the story!!! They felt very real to me. I’m a big fan of Jack Carr and his first book was so captivating, that I was disappointed in the Amazon series- even though folks kept telling me to watch it because they knew it was my kind of story line. I can guarantee that if they make this book into a movie or an Amazon series, they won’t be able to do this book justice. I used one of my monthly credits to listen to this audiobook and it was well worth it. The narrator did a great job as well.

Loved it! A fast paced thriller with surprises around every corner! If you love James Patterson, great characters and local flavor, this is exactly what you need!
