She wants revenge. He wants her.

After learning of Sin's dark deceptions, Wren travels to The Feral Vale, where she is introduced to therustic land of the elves. She vows to protect her family at all expense, even if that means keeping the Black Art's treacherous secret.

When a realm divided draws the unwanted attention of a neighboring king, Wren and the elves mustresort to clever schemes to gain leverage in the impending war. Wren and her family are determined to lay low—a challenging feat when the entire kingdom guard is searching for the "white-haired witch."

She longs to forget the betrayal that drove her here. More so, she longs to forget him, but when circumstance thrusts them together, the result is nothing short of incendiary.

As motives come to light, Wren isn't sure who she can rely on, but one fact becomes startling, andinfuriatingly, clear: Wren and Sin must combine forces if any of them has a hope to survive the disconcerting conflict ahead. With past hurts challenging them at every step, the road ahead is punishing.

War is brutal, but nothing is more maiming than furious love.

Okay I this one has me running to book three. I read this prior to the third book being on audio so I’m doing a relisten and headed to book three and just can’t even believe how good these were even on the second time through.

The Bonds That Break Us is everything I could ever want in a romantasy sequel-darker, steamier, and even more emotionally intense than the first book. Erin Mainord delivers a pulse-pounding, heart-wrenching continuation that grips you from page one and never lets go.

Wren and Singard's dynamic is absolute perfection-their chemistry is a deliciously volatile mix of tension, passion, and raw emotion. A true enemies-to-lovers-to-enemies steamy fantasy! Jacci Prior and James Cavenaugh bring this dynamic to life with stunning duet narration, making every moment feel raw and immersive.

The worldbuilding is lush, the action relentless, and the betrayals cut deep. And that ending?! Erin Mainord is cruel in the best way possible.

If you thought the first book was intense, this one will ruin you—in the best way. An absolute must-listen for fans of dark, enemies-to-lovers fantasy romance. Unforgettable, addictive, and utterly devastating. I’m desperate for book three!

I AM OBSESSED. The story itself moves well and is gripping on its own, however the audio adds a whole new level and had me on the edge of my seat. Jacci Prior does a wonderful job of bringing Wren to life, and James Cavenaugh’s voice as Sin… 🫠🫠🫠 he is easily a new favorite male narrator voice! Sin’s emotions were so wonderfully on display without the characterization being lost.

I really loved seeing Wren’s growth and discovery, and seeing all of the characters grow. I love a well-paced story that has grip but doesn’t lose itself to lore and world-building, and that is what Mainord did so beautifully here! The romance is so well-balanced with the story.

I am absolutely obsessed and cannot WAIT for book three!!!

Well good. I’m happy with how things went with this book- even though there was a lot of information being thrown around but I love that it made the world a tad bigger (if that makes any sense at all). I’m VERY curious to see how this story continues in the next book.

Again I loved the voice actors - they really know how to bring characters to life and make you feel like you’re right there in the book.

The plot thickens
