About this listen

To win the coming battle for control of the world and the mortals who dwell in it, the cunning priest Joros secretly assembled a team of powerful fighters - Scal, a lost and damaged swordsman from the North; Vatri, a scarred priestess who claims to see the future in her fires; Anddyr, a drug-addled mage wandering between sanity and madness; and Rora and Aro, a pair of twins who have secretly survived beyond the reach of the law.

But the war is only beginning for these disparate warriors and victory is far from certain when the enemy is a pair of vengeful gods. As the bound Twins strengthen in force against their parents - the Divine Mother and Almighty Father - who exiled them, a shadow begins to spread across the land, threatening to engulf all in its wake.

As deadly magic takes hold, the tenuous bonds tying these uneasy allies begins to unravel. If they cannot find a way to keep their band together, each of their lives - and the entire world - will be lost to the darkness, leaving nothing but the bones of the earth....

Epic and mythic in scope!

No second book slump here! This story just builds and builds. I can't wait to read the next book as all the pieces and characters fall into place one-by-one.

I'm there to the bitter end..

I love grimdark stuff so even though this one tested me I stuck it. There's a conviction and uncompromising quality to the writing which keeps me there..There's not much else out there like it. The final book in the series is worth it I understand.

...oof

The beginning of the first book was ehh and towards the end of first book I liked it a lot more, you even had A+ narration. The second book! ... was depressing, like there was a depressing gloomy tone through out the second book, a no hope vibe. The main dude that was a fighter all of a sudden was like ya nah I’m not coming with you guy no more that’s my old life... which left him figuring out his life and not fighting for his “firends” that we’re out traveling in the snow getting there ears cut off by distrustful Knifers, not to mention they got a powerful mage traveling with them that’s a mindless slave and coward! I had hope he’d break out of that slavery by end of first book or beginning of 2nd book.. nooooo takes damn near the whole book to bust a move for himself in the mean time getting a lot of people killed and what not... yeah gets a bit better 3 hours left of the book but I felt ripped off.
but hey at least they had A+ narration!
