About this listen

A forbidden magic. A necromancer's fate. To all things an end....

Foster and Zola head east to Antietam, a battlefield the old necromancer hoped never to return to, while Beth and Cornelius must journey into the Shadowed Lands themselves. The hunt takes Sam down the trail of an old Civil War raid where restless spirits stir. But not even the threat of the dark-touched will keep Sam from her brother. Unrelenting, the Eldritch close in on Rivercene as the extent of Nudd’s twisted madness is exposed. When the battle fades, nothing in their world will ever be the same....

Set includes the conclusion to The Books of the Dead:

I enjoyed the second set of The Books of the Dead, more than the first set. This set held my attention and presented so much more new content and locations building on the world of Vesik. You get to see how all of the books build up to the final book in this miniseries. Erin Moon did a wonderful job narrating. The change in narrators was not necessary. It was slightly jarring. I would have preferred Erin Moon to have read the entire miniseries. I would have given the audiobook 5 stars for performance; however the second narrator did not live up to her or Dufris's narration. I hope that Erin Moon narrates any future books in the Vesik Series.

Worth the Build Up

What an absolute perfect conclusion to this epic journey. Loved it all from the writing to the narrator. Each book was geared toward one particular character but Asher never left out the details of "and while our character is in a hot mess...". The whole story was told. Just the way I like it. I can't wait for Vesik's next escapade. Hopefully there will be chimichangas.

Asher always brings it

Eric has done it again as far as I'm concerned. I couldn't stop listening to the books as usual. I love all the twists, turns, ups and downs that he always gives along with the history lesson. Thank you all for an amazing series of books.

I'm so in love with this series

Anyone who is debating it, yes these side characters stories are integral to Damien and his story. Each player has a significant impact on his life and his goals for freedom of tyranny for the future of our world. Both narrators do a phenomenal job Both bringing the characters to life and paying respect to the late William Dufris and his legacy as Damien's voice

first appearance of the new Damien

The early books were that combination of humor, camaraderie, and fight scenes. Very enjoyable. All of these books were long dissertations of how inadequate and how unworthy each of the players felt, okay just most of the players and then a fight scene. Each of these books were almost identical to the previous one with a very small amount of movement in the story arc.

Not like the earlier books
