About this listen

Oaklee Ryan needs a boyfriend, but not for any of the reasons you might think. It’s a simple request. But the girl...well, she’s not so simple.

Oaklee Ryan is a pragmatist. She lives in reality, she deals with facts, and she’s goal-oriented. So when she paid a visit to Jordan Wells asking for a game, calling it, “The Boyfriend Experience”, he thought he knew what she was getting at.

Wining, dining, maybe a date to a wedding to appease her meddling mother....

No. That’s not quite what Oaklee had in mind.

Lawton Gabriel took this game as a favor to his friend. It only took him five minutes to regret it. Oaklee Ryan is insane. She’s loud, she’s demanding, and she’s dead set on getting her way.

If she thinks he’s going to turn into her version of a boyfriend...just. No. He’ll do anything it takes to get out of this crazy contract!

Includes a special bonus note read by the author.

The male voices were terrific!

I enjoyed the story, and the idea of Jordan’s game. Great series! However, the most memorable part of this particular audiobook was was whenever ‘Oaklee’ would narrate, her voice was so valley girl/snob that I could barely stand it. Teddy and Joe were fantastic and I liked the story. But, I couldn’t stand listening to her.

The boyfriend experience

Bravo! I loved it, such immediate response from the two main characters; we all need a little bit of that now and then. Now on to Jordan’s story can’t start quick enough!🥃

I want a pretend boyfriend too!!

Loving the series... Oaklee needs a boyfriend and Law needs a business partner... of course they would be a great fit for each other! duh.

The book is about their chemistry and how it develops from friendship. The story develops as you figure out why Oaklee would pay $70K for a pretend boyfriend. Once you find out the real reason why... it becomes a bit hard to believe. As if, this was the best way to achieve her goal?? Anyways... getting beyond the logical reason for the boyfriend... the story is charming.

Joe Arden is one of those perfect narrators... grouped with the other two, this story truly comes to life beautifully.

I really enjoyed this book and often wondered about the side character Jordan. Can't wait to find out more about him.

This book is a definite good listen and can be a standalone story too. Enjoy!

The boyfriend experience indeed

Continuation of Jordan’s games even though they can be read as stand alone.

Oaklee needed a game to throw her old crazy college roommate and friend off her scent and Law needed a partner for his potential reality TV: cue in Jordan’s game.

They’re paired and they fall for each other pretty fast although I don’t quite get how oaklee was anything described or didn’t understand the game… it was hard for Law to know what exactly she wanted at first and getting any information was like pulling teeth 😫
I thought she’d have a game plan, plan with the helpful friend who came in later… something, really anything to match the person she supposedly was but she came off as a bubbling fool who needed help at each corner and left me wondering if she was even capable of the creative part of the business other than perhaps the actual combining, yeast etc. the stuff she went to school for.

I did not care much for Oaklee as the story progresses and almost rooted for psycho Hannah but she WAS crazy!
I mean,
The making him get an actual tattoo? That was awful! They could have done temporary ones… Oaklee was fake to pretend it hurt her when she’s the one who brought it up… 🙄

They do have hot albeit vanilla sex especially compared to Ms. Huss other stories…

Anyway, she picks up and a becomes a tad better at the end. I knew they were going to solve the conundrum that was Hannah but the how played like a movie to me.

I enjoyed the story despite the narration being a bit slightly irritating at times…I usually enjoy Joe Arden but I just don’t know here… Victoria Mei was also off. Teddy Hamilton is never ever off but it was a very small part.

OMG - perfection

5/5 rating. Loved this book and the series. JA Huss’s characters are so real, as usual. The story is intriguing. The narration is perfection.

Made me get the others in the series

I started with book 3 because I won a book credit and had never had the chance to hear Victoria Mei yet, it was so fun hearing this book that I had to use up my credits for the rest of the series. I really enjoyed it and loved all of the narration so I couldn’t help myself.

The story was an interesting concept of a girl hiring a guy for the boyfriend experience when the girl by all means was successful, and ambitious in life but had a nemesis that hounded her into the boyfriend experience. And if I could hire a boyfriend, I certainly would have loved Lawton who turned into the best boyfriend ever. Plus it’s my first JA Huss book and I met her at a signing but hadn’t read any of her books yet, but I’m going back and listening to her other books in the series.

The girls voice...ugh!

I devour all of JA Huss books, but this one is a nope! The girl who narrated on this book, no. Especially when she tries to do the guy voices. Lol. It made it really hard to enjoy the book. Other then that, I loved it.

Enjoyed this one!

So the story was a fun one not too heavy which is what I needed after Sick Heart. Loved the male narrator but the female narrator was tough. I think I just pushed through and she actually didn’t bother me by the end. Worth a listen!
