About this listen

Everything on the job is going as expected. The target has been dealt with, and all that's left to do is remove the body. But a surprise is waiting for Quinn and Nate, one that completely changes their mission. Then when the client who gave them their new orders disappears, they find themselves on their own, with a human asset holding a dark secret that several parties are interested in obtaining, by force if necessary. To keep the asset alive, the two cleaners must stay on the run, but even that doesn't guarantee success. Because no matter how closely a secret is guarded, if enough people want it, it won't stay buried forever.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Very much so, fun listens and he leaves you wanting for more while not leaving you with unanswered questions!

I hope we don't have to wait as long for next one!

The twists and turns of this book keep the story going strong. By the end of this story we see a side of Quinn never seen before. I can't wait to see the next book.

This book reveals a softer side of Quinn.

Not disappointing attention grabbing suspenseful satisfying ending, always surprises! Scott Brick's narration, superb, as usual.

Nothing about the birth of Orlando's and Quinn's child. Not even at beginning of next book.

This is a solid addition to the series. The action is good and the narration top notch.

Solid addition

It follows on in the Quinn sequence. By now we know the characters and if we liked them, well we kept on reading / listening. This is a surprisingly believable story and well executed. Scott Brick does what he always does, driving a great pace with a strong cadence. While I didn't care for him as a reader at first, now I know what to expect and he delivers. He also does not waste time playing at different voices, and I for one appreciate that

A classic Quinn story

Captivating from beginning to end. Jonathan and his heroes are great. The listen kept me guessing with all the twist and turns. Would like to see another one in series along with Scott Brick as narrator.

Great addition to series!

A really enjoy this character and the stories too. But the earlier sister /history student turning Secret Agent and a similar approach with the 9 month pregnant agent saving the day (and world) just minutes before giving birth is a bridge too too far for me

Mostly top notch

The dialogue has improved lot since the early books in this series (far fewer instances of a character saying "What?" to enable exposition). The plot is far more complex than usual . . . highly unlikely, but it makes for a good ride. And speaking of rides . . . although the intrepid heroes traverse a great deal of very interesting country, the book takes no notice of scenery or general geography. Although the streets are accurately named, Walla Walla is no different in the narrative than Yakima or Lawrence, Kansas. It is as though the author was looking carefully at a map, but could not know (somehow) that the tour his characters took is a great journey through ever-changing and often beautiful scenery, in areas with utterly different climate and geomorphology and history and people. Even truck drivers, tied as they are to the sameness of truck stops and rest areas and other homogeneous Americana, notice when they are crossing mountains and rivers and experiencing weather and forests and plains and deserts.

In short, Mr. Battles, I enjoy your books, but I recommend you take a long drive and get out of the car and walk around in different places, so when your characters travel their experiences of the sensory world will be reflected in your prose . . .

these are getting better
