Editorial reviews

It's spring, and a butterfly is searching for a flower he can call his wife. He has his pick from a wide array of beautiful maidens in the field, from crocuses to snowdrops, violets to apple blossoms. But the butterfly finds flaws with each flower he passes, and by summertime, all the flowers have lost their youthful scent, and by winter, the butterfly is an old, lonesome bachelor. Hans Christian Andersen's fable has a twinge of sadness along with a moral, a tone that Michael Head balances with a composed performance that still allows a hint of whimsy and playfulness.
