About this listen

Qwill, Koko, and Yum Yum return for another adventure "400 miles north of everywhere" in the twelfth episode of the extraordinarily popular Cat Who... series. Back in Pickax, Jim Qwilleran's plans to resume a quiet, normal life are disrupted by a series of annoyances, culminating in the discovery of a dead body in his orchard. When Qwill's friend Dennis Hough becomes the chief suspect, he embarks on a crusade to clear Hough's name. Meanwhile, Qwill suspects that his long-time companion Polly Duncan has fallen in love with another man. Find out if Qwill can crack the case and win back Polly in this quirky, engaging romp through Moose County.©1991 by Lilian Jackson Braun; 1991 by Jill Bauman (P)1991 Dove Audio Cozy Crime Fiction Fiction Genre Fiction Mystery Pets & Animal Care Small Town & Rural Cats

Good story but not my favorite narrator.
Lillian Braun's regular narrator, George Guidall, is superb reading these books.

Good story

This author can put together a cute story so effortlessly! It is a wonderful story that leaves you feeling the same way a cup of hot cocoa and a campfire do!

As all Lillian Braun's book, this is a fun story but lousy narrator; does not do her book justice.

Just okay listening

I was not very careful before I bought this. Other listeners should take note that unlike other of Braun's audiobooks, this one is abridged and it is not read by George Guidall, although the reader was fine.

abridged

Inconsistent narration-- doing one Scottish voice for the tailor Scotty but not one for Chief Brody. The narrator's accented voice was inappropriate for the story and very distracting. However his voice is beautiful to listen to in general and I will look up other books narrated by him. Great story by Lilian Jackson Braun of course!

Narrator was not a good choice

I am outraged that Audible mixes in abridged and unabridged titles with no delineation between them and other than the time length provided NO INDICATION WHATSOEVER!!! If I wanted an abridged edition I WOULD HAVE SEARCHED FOR ONE. AbNow I am unable to get a refund on the two ABRIDGED books I bought with the expectation of getting the FULL version.
THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!!

ABRIDGED!! Great story ruined by Audible deceptio

Liked description of different characters. I am not an expert on this type of detective story and sometimes found all of the activities of different characters confusing.

Overall good story

listening to this story by a narrator with a German accent was bizarre. How does a min character from Chicago that moves to Michigan end up with a story narrator reading with a German accent. Just didn't work. won't be listening to any more of these and I loved the books.

didn't like the narration
