Editorial reviews

Feisty felines take center stage in author Leann Sweeney's second installment of the Cats in Trouble series. Coffee-sipping cat lover Jillian Hart finds herself caught up in a murder investigation when a local professor's corpse is discovered along with 50 stray felines. Veteran performer Vanessa Johansson brings warmth and compassion to this story of friendship, intrigue, and adorable kitty capers. Johansson's experience voicing animated characters plays well with the quirky, light-hearted good humor of Sweeney's self-described "gentle mystery". Hart's small-town life is colored by compelling relationships with oddball characters, sure to captivate and enchant listeners.

Not just for cat lovers

The idea of a series revolving around cats is a bit odd to me. However, the mystery is sound and the characters are likeable. I enjoyed this book and will listen to the next one.

I Continue To Be Impressed By This Series

At first when I started this series, I didn't expect much. Just some cute stories about cats, and oh by the way, a murder mystery thrown in there, was my expectation. But no, it's actually just the opposite. Very compelling murder mystery stories that oh by the way just happen to feature cats and a cat loving woman.

I'm definitely hooked and look forward to listening to the other books in the series.

A fantastic mystery

Jillian finds a house full of 50 or more cats, and when she brings Candace, the police officer, to investigate the bad conditions of the home, and when they get back, they find the professor who lives there lying dead. This leads to a long series of mysteries that develop enjoyably.

One of the real strengths of this book is the way that Jillian does not try to insert herself into the mystery but gets dragged into it. It's obvious that the author has done a lot of research into issues in the book.

I liked the previous book, but I loved this one!

Narrator ruined book for me

Before you buy this book listen to the audio sample. This narrator's voice is high pitched and to me very annoying. Like listening to a little girl read. Simply could not get past her voice to enjoy or not enjoy the book. Definitely not my cup of tea.
