About this listen

No more chocolate! No more meddling! No more men!

New Year’s resolutions are great. Announcing them in a crowded bar, with a chocolate martini in her hand? Not Maddie Cash’s finest moment. It’s time this new realtor got serious about her life, and this time, she means it.

But when hospital volunteering lands her at the bedside of bruised and battered Mick Meyer, who has no knowledge of Maddie’s reputation - and no memory of the kiss he begged from her during that long, pain-filled night, her best-laid plans are put in jeopardy. It’s not just his sweet tooth that’s tempting her.

The hunky bush pilot with the concussion has an old family property to unload. Making this sale could rejuvenate Maddie’s dying career. But when Mick turns on the charm, she’s in danger of forgetting all her best intentions...on chocolate...on meddling...and especially on men.

I had to really concentrate to follow the story in the beginning. With the pitch of the narrator's voice and the actions of the main character, I did not like her at all. Was about to stop the story, but kept going. The story got more character as it went. I gave 4 stars for no f-words. The narrator's voice for the main character grounded my nerves - too high pitched.

Slow beginning...

this book was sweet, clean, and a nice calm listen. There is one point that is personal to me. This is by far the most accurate and realistic representation of concussion recovery I've ever seen in a romance protagonist. I suffered a TBI a few years ago and the care the author put into representing what it's like really touched me.

Sweet as chocolate

It’s so refreshing to hav a romantic comedy with a narrator that can do numerous characters great. Never was lost a to what character was talking. Great series I recommend listening to them all.

Cute and funny

Who wouldn’t love a book about romance and chocolate!?! It was a very sweet love story.

Love, love, loved it!

I liked it. I've read several other books based on the Copper Mt folk. I found that those stories could be hit or miss. This is one of the good ones. I found the characters likable. The FMC is nicely developed as a strong, self-assured woman who still has her vulnerabilities but doesn't let them define her. I loved how under her cover, she was such a nice compassionate person without being a doormat ( this has not always been the case in the series based on Copper Mt Montana so I was pleasantly surprised).

I only gave it 4 stars because although romantic, the story didn't make me swoon.

The narration is very good.

Sweet story...clean.

I know romance novels are formulaic and predictable but this has no arc. the best parts are its not smutty and no contrived she hates him (for unreasonable and childish reasons) followed by he hates her (for equally childish reasons)

too sappy. ho hum
