About this listen

Carrigans of Circle C, book one: Sage Carrigan never meant to be the other woman. Unfortunately bronco rider Dawson O'Dell neglected to mention he was married the night he invited her to his bed after they'd both placed first in their rodeo events. When his wife walked in on them, Sage was deeply hurt and humiliated. After an accident in the ring the next day, Sage decides she's quitting the rodeo--and cowboys--to become a chocolatier in her hometown ranching community, Marietta, Montana. She's doing just fine, but then Dawson shows up--five years later, with a little girl in tow. He's there for the Copper Mountain Rodeo, hoping to win big. But he's also got plans of settling down with his daughter and buying a house--the very same one about which Sage has been dreaming. He says he's there for her, and he's making lots of promises. But can he keep them?

If you love clean romance, Montana, cowboys, small-town settings, and stories with family values, you will enjoy the Carrigans of the Circle.

Great Beginning

This story is a great beginning to what I’m guessing will be a fabulous series! Sage and Dawson have old wounds that need mended before either one can move on and be happy. It’s a sweet story and you can’t help but fall in love with Savannah. The narrator did a good job telling the story.

Oh no no no

I’m sorry to say because I hate to ever get down on a book but this was too short and as I’m sitting here listening to it my thoughts were I would’ve done this or I would’ve done that in the story so I can’t see that this is worth listening to. I’m gonna try to get to the next book and see what that one’s about but as of now I’m not real happy with this one

Ok book and terrible narration..

I love second chance stories but up until about 25% I thought this was a really bad story. THEN I realized it wasn’t the story but the narrator. I turned off the audio and enjoyed the rest of the book by just reading it.

This was about Dawson and Sage who fell in love five years before when they were both part of the rodeo. At the end of having sex and being threatened with a shotgun by Dawson’s wife Sage left and that was the end of that. Or so Sage thought. Dawson shows up in Marietta, Montana where Sage now owns a chocolate store, but she refuses to forgive him, but he keeps trying to explain what was happening with his wife.

Eventually, she did forgive him but it was sudden! Once she saw is divorce papers she was over being mad at him. I mean, sudden like in five minutes time.

There was no sex or swearing in this story.

As to the narration: It was terrible. The men sounded like women and all Emily Cauldwell did was read the book. No emotions, no nothing. I would not listen to her again.

Short

I didn't realize until halfway through that I had read other books featuring the same town and families, so that was pretty neat. This book was super short and I would have loved to see what happens next but I'm guessing I will see that in future books.

My thoughts: This was pretty good but it was just a setup for the next book, which I'm looking forward to reading, but not can't wait, I just want to see what happens next. Not sure if we only get the glimpse here and the next book moves on to another sister or if we get to watch the rekindling, even as a secondary story. Unfortunately, this book is tied to 2 different series, but I'm only reading one.

Recommend to others: Yes. So far so good. This series seems off to a good start.

Short but I didn't feel like I missed out on anything especially regarding this couple.
