About this listen

Annie Prudhomme never expected to be back in Marietta, Montana, and her family is fond of reminding her that she left them and the town behind in search of better things. A humiliating divorce that cost her everything she'd gained has driven her back home, and her family isn't about to welcome her back into the fold. She's in town to rebuild the old home she inherited and to move on once again.

Carson Scott never forgot Annie or the way she left. Now that she's back in town, he's realizing the old flame still burns hot, but he can't risk his heart the way he did last time, now that he has his son to think about it.

Being trapped together during a December snowstorm gives them a chance to rekindle their romance, but is Annie back for good, or is she just looking for a cowboy for Christmas?

The long lost love returns for Christmas theme was great. Ranching, cowboys and romance were a good combo.

The author did a good job of telling a story in a short amount of time. The narrator was pretty good, probably the best part of everything. Overall, it was just okay.

Just ok

I have mixed feelings about this novella because I wish the characters had been more fully developed and that their story was longer. While I liked Annie and Carson I didn’t really feel like I knew them which made it hard to feel emotionally connected to them so their romance was just okay for me. I listened to the audiobook version and I liked the narration performance of Loretta Rawlins.

Narrator wasn't bad but the story was EXCELLENT! If you like steamy love scenes then this book is for you!

Great Story

This a pretty short Christmas romance of second chances. The introduction felt a little rushed and this is part of a series so the rest of the books might get into more detail.

Short Christmas romance

The story was weak. Full of contradictions with a very dis-likable main character. The narrator did pretty well with what she had to work with.

Pretty terrible

I loved the storyline and characters. The only thing I really found I didn’t like was the he said and she said being said for every character as they talked. I highly recommend this book.

A great read

Story was ok but the narrator kept saying “he said” “she said” every time a character spoke. Very distracting and it ruined the flow of the book. The sad thing is the narrator was great with character voices. She did not have to keep repeating he said - she said. The voices were very distinct and she did amazing, so the extra grammar hints took away from her talent.

Skipped chapters to get to the ending.

I wasn't impressed with this book. Very basic storyline. I feel narrator could have been a little more peppy.

No Surprises
