About this listen

After her parents died in a car accident when she was just a child, Evelyn Lakewood was left alone in the world. Now grown up, she enrolls at Oxford University, where she begins to create a new, stable life.

But when she encounters Jared Calmburry, who she later discovers is an orphan with his own tragic history, the equilibrium she was striving for is thrown off. Instantly drawn to this mysterious stranger with the incredible blue eyes, and confounded by the unusual events that occur whenever they meet, Evelyn resolves to investigate further. What she finds will startle her beyond measure: an ancient legacy of magic, a centuries-old secret society, and a foreboding legend with her and Jared at its center. As she follows a cryptic trail, Evelyn will discover clues to her own painful past, answers she hadn't even been looking for - and a passionate love she cannot resist despite the dangers it brings.

It just left the reader hanging...😢

Had be hooked but, just left me hanging at the end... such an “ugly” to play on a reader... just to sell the next in the series?!😢

The story let me re-live my first love all over again. I also love how the

Again I loved how the story made me feel all the emotions I felt with my first love and first Mystery all at the same time. The narration was great. The only drawback I had was that this story seems to be only part one and I was left hanging as to what comes next.

Interesting Idea, but I kept Losing Interest

Would you try another book from the authors and/or Heather Wilds?

I enjoyed the narrator's voice, and I'll certainly listen to her narration of other books. I'll likely avoid this author in the future, unless I were to read a review that says something like, "This book is a notable improvement over 'The Concealed'."

What could the authors have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

I would have liked less description about unimportant things. I also felt like a large portion of the character interactions were longing or brooding stares. The characters were supposed to be college students and teachers, but their communication seemed immature.

What does Heather Wilds bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She has a clear, calm and pleasant voice.

Could you see The Concealed being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

No.

Any additional comments?

Great narration. The story idea was an interesting one, but the story delivery fell short.

Marvelously entertaining!

The tale of Merlin and his entourage is always entertaining, and this book does not disappoint. From its tragic beginning to its cliff hanger ending you will spend several hours totally entertained. Enjoy!

Cliffhanger....

Found this little gem while trolling Amazon & audible for an kindle unlimited audiobook. The reviews don't give credit to the author & story, take the story for what it is & enjoy it. Much of the confusion is likely due to the translation of the book to English & I agree it doesn't come off with the typical European flair that one would typically expect, but I enjoyed it none the less. I have definitely encountered much more inappropriate & unbelievable love matches and while there were times I wish she would move on with it, I really just wanted them to be together so the story would carry on. Alas, I am left with a cliffhanger which I cannot in good faith leave unknown.

I'm really annoyed with this storyline

girl is sheltered and isolated. girl doesn't have a lot of self value. girl meets boy who she doesn't really get to know. boy keeps secrets from the girl and later blames her for making "mistakes" that could have been prevented if she had known the secrets. boy knows what's best for girl. girl has to win over his circle (because she has none), but he protects her during this. girl is shy, skinny, frail, eats very little, a virgin, and needs to be protected. In short: a man you barely know is your only chance at happiness and the only thing that matters. he is all knowing....
also...the way this book ended was like the book had been torn in half. I'm not left in suspense, but confusion. it's disappointing, because the writer can really paint a scene with words. they could have done so much better!

Good book

Dara Unger

Enjoyable enough. Great narrator. Good cast of characters. My only problem was the instant love.

Daughting

Would you consider the audio edition of The Concealed to be better than the print version?

I listened to the Audio edition, it kept me hooked when I wanted to put it aside. The fact and fiction was riveting at time.

What other book might you compare The Concealed to and why?

N?A

Which scene was your favorite?

When Evelyn found out she was part of the magical family. ( of course liking the entire book,
kept me captivated.) I also went on to read the Revealed.
