Good Stories - Lost Files Start Point

If you've finished the Lorian Legacies and are feeling flat and like you really want more, the Lost Files are definitely worth getting in to.

I vacillated over whether I really wanted to listen to these and worried they'd be disappointing or not as good as the series. For the most part, they are good and entertaining. Some of these stories are really amazing, though, and you don't want to miss them.

Since I struggled to figure out which of these Lost Files books to start with, I'll just recommend you start with this one.
(And then move to Secret Histories)

This includes back stories for Six, Nine and Adam.

I felt a lot of Six's story was really covered in the original series. This dives a bit deeper, but of the three stories in this book, I would say this was the less interesting for me as it really didn't seem to provide anything new, but it was not bad.

Nine's story is great and a lot of fun. There aren't any sections really from his point of view in the main series, so it is fun to get some insight to how his mind works. (Which can be really funny, but can sometimes be pretty dark.) We also start to get some insights into Sandor, Nine's Cepan. (Who will turn out to be one of my absolute favorite characters in these back stories.)

Finally, the third story in this series is the first of the Adam backstories. Since I've been longing for more backstory on Adam, I was thrilled with this, and the story did not disappoint. It was good and very engaging. I would say my only complaint was that it ended on an almost literal cliff hanger (argh...) and I was a little worried there wouldn't be a follow up. I should have known Pittacus wouldn't do such a thing, though, and all was forgiven when I found the part two and part three of his story in the "Secret Histories" book. (*whew*)

So, in conclusion, these are worth the listen, especially if you are going into Lorien Legacy withdraw. And if you aren't sure which book to start with, I'd recommend you start here. Enjoy :)

Great Add

I fell in love with I am Number Four and wanted to learn more about the story... this book is a great addition. It helps you understand both points of view. I really enjoyed it.

Surprisingly good.

I was interested to hear some of the stories that go along with the series. I was very impressed with what the writer has done with one character in particular. I'm much more excited for this series to continue after hearing this story.

great background info.

Any additional comments?

Great addition to the number 4 books.
The only problem is they don't come out with the next one quick enough

I almost got bored and turned it off, but.....

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I actually think that what happens in here is actually going to be pertinent back-story for the next book. At least the last part, anyways. They introduce a new character, and depending on how the next book in the series goes, we might need to have already learned why he is the way he is. At least this book was short, though, because it was fairly dry.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

I was intrigued. The new character could make for an interesting plot twist in the series.

What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

eh... I enjoy having different readers for the different characters, but if I had read the book in text, then I could have just made up my own voices.

Did I Am Number Four: The Lost Files: The Legacies inspire you to do anything?

ummm... no.

Any additional comments?

This might be a side-book, but I think it could be important info for the series. Six and Nine are complex characters, so it's good to have insight into them, as well. It would have been hard for the author to integrate their back-story into the regular books without detracting from the plot, so I think this was a good compromise. :o)

Excellent!

The narrators were every good, and the book, like all of the books in the Lorien Legacies, was fantastic!
