Publisher's summary

The list of things I hate is short. Not even my soon-to-be ex-husband is on that list. Nope. I save only the worst of the worst, the crème de la crème, the absolute I cannot even for this list....

1. Black coffee
2. Rude people
3. Nathaniel Bradley

Which is why when my father informs me that he’s making Nathaniel Bradley his new business partner, and in turn, my boss, I flip out.

1. He’s an annoying know-it-all.
2. He calls me a spoiled princess every chance he gets.
3. He disapproves of everything I do.

I go into this knowing I’ll hate every second in his presence. Except the longer he’s around, the more I find myself staring at his lips and remembering the one time they were on mine. I randomly find myself looking at his hands and wondering how they’d feel on my skin.

I try to snap out of it, but I guess I’m not as smart as I thought I was. No matter how many times I remind myself of the times I’ve practically thrown myself at him and he’s pushed me away, I keep falling little by little.

I’d always heard that it was a bad idea to mix business with pleasure and if that’s the case, this thing with Nathaniel has demise written all over it.

Enjoyable

Very cute story. Narration was great too. But just keep in mind it’s mostly Summer and very little Lee. He might have 3 or 4 quick chapters. It definitely would have been nice to get more of the guys POV.

This heroine is no pushover!

Loved that this couple handled things in a mature way by communicating honestly and plainly, didn’t play games with each other and were always decent and kind to one another. Loved it!

Great listen

Love this author so much. Not sure what took me so long to read/listen, and great past characters make an appearance, which was very exciting.
Loved the plot, loved Nathaniel... Liked the heroine... Kinda whiny sometimes... But she's definitely book worthy.

Good Story

It was a pretty good Enemies to Lovers story, I liked Nathan's character much better than Presley. She didn't have enough substance for me, she was too much of a spoiled rich girl. All in all it kept me engaged in the story.

I binge "listened" this one!

The Consequence of Falling is some of Claire's best work!

This book made me laugh so much, made my eyes sting more than a few a times, and gave me the best overall feelings. The plot was so good mixed with Claire's impeccable realness of the dialogue she gifts to her characters made for a perfect listen. I couldn't love it more even if I tried!

Want to have a threesome with me? (Nate's answer to that question was one of my favorite parts of the entire book!

If not now when???

Man did I enjoy this book! I thought this was an amazing enemies to lovers story. I thought it was great how the story unfolded. When Presley and Nathaniel meet originally they are not in a place to start a relationship. Presley resents Nathaniel and Nathaniel does not think that he would measure up to Presley standards. I love how their paths continually crossed in life at all the right times. I love the banter between the two. I think Claire did a fantastic job with this story. Truely a great reads that takes you on the emotional journey of Presley and Nathaniel relationship.

Let it go.

It was a bit of a struggle due to the characters...they weren’t too likable but I guess the more you read, the more they grow on you. I thought Nathaniel is cool but the girl, Presley, she grew on me. Little by little, she seems just a girl who is broken and didn’t think twice when she talks. LOL. I was glad she came to her senses “in time, though.” Like a long time....hahahaha. Overall, I dig this story. I dig Claire Contreras. Thanks for making my days earlier to live by just reading your books. Audio Narrators as usually are amazing. ENOUGH SAID.

All the feels!

Y'all. I'm not sure how long it's been since I've read a book that truly had me all up in my feelings. ALL the feelings. Frustration, heartbreak, lust, love. I felt them in my mind, in my gut, and in my chest. The tingles, the burn, the butterflies. Presley and Nate's story had it all. I highly recommend this book.

I listened to the audiobook as well as read the pages, so I can tell you I enjoyed the narration. It was very well done.
