About this listen

Lenora De Luca

I've always been a good girl.
The perfect daughter.
The perfect sister.
And, in two weeks, I'm supposed to become the perfect wife.
I don't know or like the man my father chose to marry me off to but I have no say in the matter.
That's why when I see Rocco Marchetti, the man I've had a crush on my entire life, I decide he'll be my first.
When he looks at me it's electric and I know he wants me.
We keep stealing glances and hiding smiles, but I want more.
I want one night with him.
So what if I'm the daughter of the most feared man in organized crime?
So what if he's my overprotective brother's best friend?
It's just one night.

Rocco Marchetti

Lenora De Luca is as forbidden as they get.
She's also kind, and thoughtful, and makes my d...makes it hard to think.
It starts off innocent enough, just flirting, but then she kisses me and tells me she wants to spend one night with me.
It's wrong on so many levels, but I don't even try to deny that I want her.
I tell myself that it'll be her wedding present (I know I'm sick, get over it).
I've had plenty one nightstands that end amicably.
Lenora can't possibly be any different.
As long as her brother doesn't find out, things will be fine.
I usually strategize and think through every decision, but something about her makes me walk right into the fire.

Loved it

Man I love a mafia romance. The drama. The emotion. The suspense. And the way these men are so soft for their women.

Samantha and Rob are freaking fantastic. Perfection!!

Forbidden Romance

Rocco.....Rocco....Rocco....dear lord this man. Claire creates such a complex and damaged character. In Chapter five you get a clear understanding of who Rocco is and why he does what he does...and let me tell you listening to Robert Hatchett voice Rocco was beyond expectations...he was growly and hard but then softened when he needed too....so so amazing. Lenora is not the fragile girl people perceive her to be...and she is determined to prove it. The problem is she doesn't realize that one small action on her part is going to have severe consequences for almost every single person in her orbit. The range that Samantha Brentmoor displayed as Lenora was absolutely beautiful. And her male voice....especially Rocco, Chapter 9....would recommend, 100%, I had chills...I would highly recommend you check for triggers...it's dark and violent and amazing!
Claire absolutely blew me away with this story and then having these two powerhouse narrators, an amazing production company and producer just took it to the next level for me.

Love Rocco and Lenora 4-1/2🌟

This was the first book that I listened to in this series and by this author and loved it!  Nora is the virgin mafia princess being forced by her father to marry an older man she doesn’t even know.  She is at one of the pre-wedding parties and sees Rocco, an old friend of the family that she was always attracted to.  Rocco has a complicated past and is part of the Mafia but is sweet on Nora now that she is all grown up, but knows that he should keep his distance since he is her brother’s best friend and she is about to be married.  Nora makes a move at Rocco because she doesn’t want to go into this marriage as a virgin.  Let’s just say that Rocco is pretty excitied to help her out. Nora wants out of this impending arranged marriage and does something to try to get back at her father that causes mass chaos. Rocco will do whatever it takes to keep Nora safe at any cost.  There are a lot of triggers in this book, but it was a great book with lots of excitement and sexy times.  I loved the characters, especially Rocco.  Even though he was a killer when he needed to be, I found him pretty sweet with Nora.  I loved the narration in this book, especially Robert Hatchet’s.  His voice of Rocco was spectacular with all the emotion and growl.  I can’t wait to listen to the next book.

All the stars and h0ly narration batgirl!

***
“I know you have to do bad things, but you’re a good man, Rocco Marchetti.”

Holy Guacamole, where have you been all my listening life, Robert?!!! This audiobook is a must listen, all the stars, every freaking one!

Even though it’s book 4 you really can just start here. This is a m4fia romance with just enough v!olence to give these characters the edge.

Lenora is Rocco’s Principessa, and their chemistry is explosive. She’s all grown up, and he doesn’t want to want her but he so does. Their spice is nice if you know what I mean. Couple that with the action, double-crossing, found family, secrets, lies, and revenge, and you have the recipe for an addictive story.

I loved the story but the narration just took this up a notch. As always Ms. Brentmoor delivers the goods. I particularly liked how she whispers, cries, and cracks some of her lines. She was *chef’s kiss* as Lenora. And well, well, well, Mr. Hatchet, you and your possessive, gruff, alpha voice made me swoon for Rocco. His delivery of Rocco’s command in the bedroom was positively delightful!

Claire peppers just enough swoon in there to balance out the hard edge to Rocco, and I lapped up every last line.

If you’re looking for an audiobook that hits all the marks (pun intended, he’s a sniper) then this is the one for you.

Because

I’m not a fan of mafia romance but I started this series because I like Claire Contreras. This one however is my least favorite. The MFC, Nora, is too naive to live. She’s overly submissive and all around boring as a character. And the MMC is kind of a sicko. (SPOILERS) I Found it hard to like a guy who would cut another man’s penis off. Even if the guy deserved it, major ick. While the story was okay the characters just lacked any depth, particularly Nora.
