About this listen

New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author

All my life, I've been a man-magnet. Everywhere I go, guys drop at my feet. After all, I have a perfect body, insatiable sex drive, and a razor wit. I'm also modest (can't you tell?). Trouble is, I've never been lucky in love. I only attract guys who forget their wallets and show up to dates wearing #@%#-stained clothes. With my best friend's wedding around the corner, I finally decide enough is enough. I'm not only going to find the perfect date to her wedding, but I'm going to find Mr. Right: a gorgeous man with a great sense of humor, a chiseled bod, talent in bed, and a big... (ahem) wallet. Is that too much to ask? If all goes right, my quest will lead me into the arms of my perfect match... or will it?

Book 3 (The Cowboy): The sexy, truck-obsessed cowboy knows how to two-step and woo the ladies, especially Simone. Unfortunately, he's also hiding his true self. Will Simone discover who he really is before she gives her heart? Or does their romance go up in flames?

Simone: Adventures in Dating (Book 3: The Cowboy) is a prequel to the hilarious bestselling series, CARPE DiEMILY. This installment series can be read separately from CARPE DiEMILY.

Enjoyable!

If you could sum up The Cowboy in three words, what would they be?

Funny, unique, enjoyable

Who was your favorite character and why?

I love Simone, but the cowboy (Austen) was pretty hilarious. Quite a character!

Which scene was your favorite?

Simone's date with Austen. That scene was so funny, so well done, that I couldn't stop listening. This was my favorite book in the series because of the laughs.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Grey Tumbleweed! Ha, ha. You'll have to listen to the book to find out what I mean. Soooo funny!

Any additional comments?

If you want something to lighten up your day, this is the book for you. There's no way someone can have a bad day after listening to this book. I've never listened to a book like this one before. It was so unique. A very enjoyable and fun experience.

Simone can't catch a break!

What made the experience of listening to The Cowboy the most enjoyable?

Oh my gosh, this book was funny! Poor Simone, she can't catch a break. Her date with the cowboy is one for the records. Hilarious listening.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The cowboy. You gotta love a quirky man! Yes, he's handsome, but what's he hiding under that big ol' hat? LOL! This book was so dang funny. I laughed until my sides hurt. The narrator knocked it out of the park.

Have you listened to any of Elizabeth Powers’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, but I'm going to search out her other books. She's got a knack for humor and romance.

Who was the most memorable character of The Cowboy and why?

The scene in the restaurant. It was completely unexpected and one of the funniest scenes I've ever listened to in a book.

Any additional comments?

Great writing throughout. I enjoyed the characters and story, but most of all, the humor. Well done.

Freaking HILARIOUS!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

YES! I've already recommended it to my friends. I've never laughed so hard while listening to a book. This audio book was freaking hilarious! The whole scene with the cowboy and his truck--priceless! I don't want to reveal any spoilers, but let's just say that scene was so far-fetched, and yet so realistic, that it had me in stitches. We've all had dates that bad....well, not quite as bad as poor Simone, LOL! Very funny and enjoyable book.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Simone, of course! She's a riot. And her interactions with Austen (AKA "Gray Tumbleweed") were so funny that my husband asked what I was laughing about. I had him listen, and then he borrowed my book to listen to on the way to work. He loved it as much as I did.

Which scene was your favorite?

The scene with Simone in the truck. I don't want to reveal any spoilers, but there's a moment when she's riding in the truck that is so well written, so funny, that I couldn't stop laughing. And it just gets better! The scenes with his hat are equally funny.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I loved Simone's generosity of spirit with the cowboy. I wouldn't have been so nice, LOL!

Any additional comments?

If you love a good laugh, you've got to listen to this book...and the entire series. SO entertaining!
