About this listen

Liv just wants her best friend Bex to find love.

Bex just wants to stay in bed with Outlander.

With 40 just around the corner, divorced single mom Bex is too busy being a chauffeur for her teenage daughter to bother swiping for dates.

Her best friend Liv, who is married to the supposedly perfect man, swoops in from London on a mission to get Bex out of her own bed and in to someone else’s. Liv pushes Bex into a week-long whirlwind of dates, awkward kisses and missed connections.

What could possibly go wrong when Bex agrees to Liv’s harebrained scheme of saying Yes to every possible suitor? And why is Liv so intent on fixing Bex’s love life, or lack thereof?

Just what do you find out when all of your no’s turn into the yes factor?

real life friendship isn't always perfect

This is such a real life friendship story! As a 39, almost 40 year old myself, I feel this story so much. We am grow up and the context of our relationships changes and that is what has happened to Liv and Bex. Watching them reconnect and relearn each other was beautiful and reminded me i need to be more intentional with my friendships so they don't become "one sentence texts and funny memes."

Fun and delightful read!

When I first read The Yes Factor by Erin Spencer and Emma Sable I truly enjoyed he story. It was such a fun and delightful read. I laughed and just lost myself in the story. When I had the opportunity to listen to the audio, narrated by Ava Erickson and Andi Arndt, I just loved it. They truly brought Liv and Bex to life. I loved listening to them bring their friendship to life. The good, the bad and the fun.

Liv and Bex are best friends and always there for each other. However, with lives in separate places, they may not always be as close as they used to be and want to be, but the love and friendship is always there. But could they need each other now more than ever? Liv wants to help Bex enter dating life again and truly give it a try and Liv needs to figure out who she is and what she truly wants.

I just loved their friendship, banter and how they pushed and supported each other. Though they were not always completely honest with each other, you could see what they truly mean to one another. Both Liv and Bex went through so much growth, learning, self-awareness. The Yes Factor by Erin Spencer and Emma Sable was a great read about friendship, life, choices and so much more. It is a great read and/or listen, either way you cannot go wrong! I loved it.

Happy listening!

Hilarious and Heartfelt!

I really enjoyed this debut novel by author duo by Erin Spencer, and Emma Sable. It is a funny, frank, and moving story about friendship, marriage and moving on. Bex and Liv are best friends who have lost touch in recent years. Liv seems to have the perfect marriage and lives in London while Bex is in LA, struggling to move on as a single mom, after her divorce. When Liv's life leaves her feeling empty, she races across the pond to help Bex spark up her dating life. Bex loves having her friend back again, and easily agrees to Liv's idea of saying yes to new experiences and finding dates through apps. This leads to some hilarious and awkward encounters. I really loved the heartfelt conversations and re-connection between two close friends who have let life get in the way. Narrators Ava Erickson, and Andi Arndt are so perfect as Bex and Liv. They made both women so authentic and relatable, allowing me to feel like I was right there experiencing all the awkward fun, heartfelt emotion, and hope and enthusiasm for what comes next for them both. I had so much fun listening to this hilarious, heartfelt story and can't wait for Liv's story next!

Witty Tale of Friendship & Dating/Love Woes

The Yes Factor by Erin Spencer and Emma Sable is so much fun. I loved the characters and the story premise. Main characters Bex and Liv are like Lucy and Ethyl or Thelma and Louise. The two have been separated by the Atlantic Ocean for a number of years and their friendship has gotten a bit stale, but when Liv comes to visit, it’s like they were never apart.

As childhood friends, they practically lived at one another’s homes, but as adults, living on different continents, they struggled through some difficult times on their own. At this specific point in their lives, they are both facing more challenges. For Bex is it a stalled love life. She would love a relationship (or just a date), but always finds a reason to not meet the men she finds on various dating apps. Lex is married, but it isn’t the happily-ever-after she wanted. When her husband again chooses work over a romantic getaway, she hops on a plane to “solve Bex’s love life” instead of her own. That is when the action really takes off. Sometimes funny, sometime poignant, this story about friendship. Bex and Liv are almost sisters—yes, they love and care for each other, but that doesn’t mean they don’t disagree, keep secrets, or have arguments.

I enjoyed Bex’s “say yes” journey, and most of all, I enjoyed the story of her friendship with Liv. Thanks to the excellent narration by Ava Ericson and Andi Arndt my chores were much easier to get through while listening to this book. Say yes to this book; it’s a light-hearted, quick read.

Say "YES" to Yes Factor!!

Peace, Love, & Bacon! This story is all of the awesome things: Funny, sad, empowering, REAL, sweet, swoony! It's about falling in love, but it's not a romance. Characters are relatable and just plain fun! The main story centers around the friendship between two women who don't know they are lost, but they will find themselves and come to terms with what that means. The characters are rediscovering their connection, stumbling through the modern pitfalls of dating, and taking the plunge to experience new things. I was very pleasantly surprised when (more than once) I thought I knew what was coming or how characters would interact/react, and I was so very wrong! Yes Factor is fresh, inspiring, and a feel good story that is worth the credit!

Andi and Ava are two of my favorite narrators who deliver stellar performances and blend together perfectly to deliver Liv and Becks! I was hooked from the very beginning and invested in the characters. I wish it was longer with more of what's next (which is not really a complaint at all, but begging for more)!

Really enjoyable, except one thing

Really enjoyable listen. I love a good contemporary fiction with a strong friendship theme. This one was packed with strong characters who make mistakes and need forgiveness from those they love. I loved all of the wit and the sticky/funny situations Bex and Liv found themselves in. Character growth was strong throughout and I loved Bex’s ending but Liv’s fell short. I guess it’s leaving her part of the story open for interpretation but I would have liked a little more. Too notch narration, as would be expected from these two rock stars.

A great beach read

This book is more women's fiction romance rather than chick-lit romance, though there are some chick-lit tropes. The dating mishaps provide levity to the more serious "finding yourself" moments. This would make a great beach read.

Everything You Want in a Rom-Com!

I simply loved this book. A great Rom Com style with all the cute, funny, teary moments you could ask for. The characters of this book were really likeable, and I found myself really wanting them to 'win'.
I loved the detailed descriptions of dating in LA, AND the use of dating apps! LOL! There were definitely cringe worthy moments that made me laugh out loud. For real.
This is a great listen for anyone wanting to mix it up with something light and entertaining with grounded, real to life characters.
