About this listen

Meghan

After finding my long time boyfriend, James, in bed with another woman, there was only one thing to do with our non-refundable Christmas trip to Miami: go alone and wallow in my sorrow. But, I found something in the fancy south Florida bungalow that I never expected... a man. He was tall, dark, handsome and claimed he owned the house.

At first, I just wanted him to leave so I could spend the week to myself. But, there was something about this man that attracted me. There was more to him than just his amazing abs and wealth. Maybe, just maybe, he could help me get over James.

Demetri

I should have been home at the castle this close to Christmas, but my father's constant pressure to be "proper" and "prepared to rule" drove me away. So instead of celebrating with my family and my people, I was in Miami partying and making a general nuisance of myself.

That is, until a girl stumbled into the family villa that I was hiding in to avoid those responsibilities. She began making wild claims like "I rented this place" and "put on pants". While I wasn't quite in the mood for company, something about this leggy, vulnerable blond tugged at me in a way other women hadn't.

laugh out loud funny!

So here it was later tonight and I couldn't sleep. So I downloaded this book and begin to listen. Now remind you my husband is sleeping soundly in the bed next to me. I cannot tell you how many times I woke him up by giggling. It really does have some funny parts.
What do you do when you find a prince that needs to be kicked in the butt and pushed in the correct direction? Well done Amber Burns.

Narration by these two were great and I would listen to them again

Fairytale romance in the real world

Who doesn't love a fairy tale romance? What I loved about this one was it was realistic. Meghan is heartbroken after catching the man who she thought she would marry in bed with another woman. She takes a vacation in Miami. It was actually the romantic vacation her now ex and her were supposed to take together. She expects a week of relaxing. What she doesn't expect is to wake up to is a naked man in her room stating the house she rented was his. Turns out there was a misunderstanding. They end up sharing the space for her vacation and soon they can't deny the immediate attraction between each other. Just when Meghan thinks her only worry is trying not to fall for this man, the truth of who he is comes out. He's a prince! Before she knows it she is agreeing to go visit his home with him and see a different life than she has ever experienced. She quickly learns that royal life isn't perfect. Feelings between Demetri and her grow strong. He is used to being a playboy but there is something different about this girl who surprised him. Meghan doesn't think she can fit into his life. Demetri is doing all he can to prove she does and that she is what he needs. I loved this book! It was a quick read/listen because I was so enthralled in the story, swooning all the way through. I loved these characters and I really don't want their story to end. I hope there is more from them down the line!

a royal holiday affair

Prince Demitri is hiding away from his parents at their Miami Beach home, when an unexpected visitor arrives. Meghan is flying solo on the Christmas vacation that was supposed to be with her live-in bf...except, she arrived home early and found him with another woman. She is exhausted when she arrives at the Miami Beach villa and crashes on the bed. She is awakened by a stunning man who, at first, mistakes her for a prostitute! Turns out that the prince was unaware that his family had rented the villa. Of course, there is no alternative place just a few days before Christmas so Dem proposes that he will cover the cost of food and entertainment while Meghan is in residence. Dem is attracted to the unassuming American and the pair quickly embark on a fling. When Demetri’s sister shows up and demands that he returns home for the holiday...she steamrolls Meghan to come along. It’s only then that she realizes the Dem is not just ‘some rich guy’. Of course Meg’s arrival is met w hostility and the King seems to enjoy berating his son. Will the brief relationship survive the onslaught?
This was a quick read that really drew you into the characters. I wanted to stomp and cheer for Meg when she told off the king...#teamMeg!! Good book, worth the read.

Sweet and funny fairytale Love Story

This was my first Amber Burns book's. This is a sweet, funny and heartwarming fairytale love story. Meghan and Demetri are great together. I loved how Demetri got attached, rapidly, to Meghan. I loved how Meghan was able to be confident after her bad experience with her ex. The narration was great and easy to listen. I love the Demetri's accent. Fun story

Amber had written such a delightful, funny, and heartwarming story. Both Meghan and Deme are escaping painful past experiences. Deme appears to be an arrogant man but his caring attitude towards Meghan surprises him as well as her. This story is filled with funny banter, an awakening of true feelings, conquering past demons, standing up for yourself, and finding true love. Both narrators did an outstanding job of portraying the emotions of the characters. Loved the accents. I asked to receive this Audible book and voluntarily wrote this unbiased review. I highly recommend this Audible book for your listening pleasure.

Christmas in April!

Have you ever wanted to just get away? Meghan is taking some time at Christmas to leave her apartment, awaiting her cheating ex to move out. She rents a home in Florida but little does she know, the owner is there! A good looking, arrogant man, Demetri works out an arrangement for them both to stay. There is something about Meghan though that Demetri can't ignore. A story like this is a lot of fun to listen to. The innocence of meeting up at first makes the characters really likable since it's not the draw of the Prince title that attracts Meghan to Demetri, and their chemistry clearly is strong. It's very sweet to watch how Demetri woos her and tends to her though she at times could be a little prickly. The best parts of this book though occur when Demetri is back at his home country. Meeting the family and the interactions with Nadine(his sister), Meghan and the King are indicative to the characters that Amber Burns has created. We get to see how unexpected love is truly the best for this couple.

Accents in this story are important for the Royal family and the two narrators did a great job. I loved Curt Bonnem's voice for Demetri. He held that regal sound with the right touch of arrogance but was able to turn it around to a vulnerability that makes your heart melt. Nicole Blessing brought Meghan to life, voicing the hurt and frustration and eased it in to love and compassion.

Great HEA

Loved the story line, it reminded me of a Hallmark movie. Crown prince hiding from responsibility and meets the one that makes him a better person. The chemistry between the characters was off the charts. The narrators were great, not sure if the accent was real but wow.
