About this listen

The Dalai Lama regarded their flushed, animated faces, his forehead wrinkling. 'The materialist approach', he nodded. 'Seeking to change what you believe to be entirely outside you. It has many problems. For example, why must you constantly postpone your happiness?' India's Top Ten Social Influencers Under 30 were taken aback by this question. Staring at him, their eyes filled with consternation. Postponing happiness was something they most definitely wanted no part of.

In a chance encounter with India's Top Ten Social Influencers, the Dalai Lama is asked to how to use the 'law of attraction' to manifest abundance. He points out that material wellbeing was never the goal of such practices as he begins to explain their true purpose.

It is a purpose that His Holiness's Cat goes on to explore with her usual warm-hearted and wonky-legged aplomb. Is the world much more a projection of our mind than we suspect? Can a few precious insights transform our reality? In a drama of intimate revelations as well as panoramic visions, of encounters with much-loved friends along with intriguing newcomers, the Dalai Lama's Cat comes to discover that The Claw of Attraction holds the key to a more sublime transcendence than she ever believed possible.

Love this series!!!

I’ve never been a big reader so I didn’t know what I liked, til audible. I’ve listened to a lot. But as soon as I started this series, I was hooked. It’s funny yet educational. Life lessons through stories. And really a funny perspective to see through the eyes of a cat. I did listen to other books by the author that were just educational and the lessons are good but I took awhile to get through them. This series though, as soon as the books come out I’m all in start to finish and talking about it to my friends. I even got the hard copies.

Another endearing story imbued with lessons from Buddhism

This was yet another endearing story about the Dalai Lama’s cat, “ the most beautiful creature that ever lived,” and the community of like-minded aspirants living in Dharamshala. All the books in this series are vehicles of Buddhist thought and teachings.

Subtle Teaching

I love Mr Michie’s subtle way of teaching us the basics of Buddhist philosophy under the guise of a fun cat story. When I’m stressed or just feeling unsettled, listening to his smooth narration and wise words is calming and even life changing! Thank you sir!

I could listen to these books nonstop

I love the Dalai Lama's Cat series so much that I always get kind of sad when one of the books end. David Michie is such a wonderful author, to write this kitty's book with such purrfection and teach us so many Buddhist concepts through the eyes of this fantastic fluffy feline. I have loved each book in the series, but this 6th book (and the 4th book) are my top picks. I loved the adventure in this one, as well as the expansion on bodhicitta and sunyata from the previous books. This one, I think, would have been more challenging as a stand alone, so I'd say start with an earlier book in the series just so the references and characters make more sense, but it wouldn't be impossible on its own. Overall, very well done, highly recommend for animal lovers and people interested in Buddhism. I have noticed how my own thoughts and perceptions have changed and have been evolving, and I must give a deal of credit to this book (series) for helping me as I progress towards what I call "leveling up" my mindset.

A great way to understand Buddha Dharma

I’ve listened to all six books in this series and all of them have been enjoyable while providing insights into Buddhism.

Love the story

There is a sixth installment of the series and it keeps getting better. We see many new characters added to the storyline which will give the author plenty of directions to go in the future. We get to follow HHC around as they help solve issues for other people and we get lots of great Dharma teachings. Or Buddhist teachings depending on how you wish to word it. we could see how there are no occurrences in life. It’s all about how we react to them. Any actions we take according to them. I wonder what the seventh book will be about and we’ll see a second HHC emerge.

The graciousness of the characters

The story is a little bit more contrived than the others in this series, but the ending is absolutely beautiful. The gift of Buddhist wisdom and heartwarming description of the Dalai Lama is wonderful. telling the story through the eyes of the cat who can be anywhere is brilliant.
