About this listen

It’s always darkest before the light....

Defeated in battle, the fractious alliance of Goltar, Spine Patriots, and the Midnight Sun Free Company are chased across the Spine Nebula by the Endless Night and their sea-monster allies, the Tyzhounes.

Abandoning the nebula is not an option. For the free trader skipper, Lenworth Jenkins, the people of its 15 tormented worlds are the cause he’s been searching for all his life. The Midnight sisters, Sun and Blue, can’t abandon their people trapped in the nebula or its fabulous prospects of wealth and opportunity. On a water world behind enemy lines, Branco, the former Binnig spy, is dying. Can he make a difference one last time?

As Endless Night stretches across the nebula, those who still resist must dig deep and believe that however dire the situation, this is the dark before the light.

More of a series review than the book.

The 4 horseman universe deliveres a consistent stream of average to really great mil sci-fi with a complex and moving meta narrative.

Any book with a horseman is a great. When they team up to cap off an arch, it’s epic.

I personally don’t care for the Peacemaker books, but they are there if your into detective books. The second tier merc companies are hit or miss, depending on your personality.

Black & White and Do No Harm are must reads.

This book continues the Midnight Sun story. Which is always a bit slower than I like. Feels like they could have compressed this and the last midnight sun book into one without loosing anything important.

It does setup the Golden Horde to ride into the spine nebula arch in Minutes to Midnight, so there is that.

A great universe continues.

I really like the Four Horsemen Universe, that being said I lost the thread during the middle. I could really have used a scorecard on who all the players were and how they related to each other.

I got a bit lost

A wonderful continuation of the tales of Sun, Blue, Bronco, and company in the fight against the Endless Night and exploration deeper into the mystery of the endless flow and the true motives of their employers, the Goltar. Tim Taylor weaves a beautiful tale as always.

Great new tale of Midnight Sun

The story is hard to read, even harder to listen to. Every other page there is a new alien species and the ending was anticlimactic.

Could have been much better
