About this listen

A murder game. A real dead body. Can he help a friend through a torrent of danger?

DCI Harry Grimm smells trouble brewing. As the chief inspector and his team prepare for a harsh winter storm, a call comes in from an old pal that a remote PI training session in the Dales he is attending has abruptly ended in a suspicious death. And while the gruff detective struggles through a blizzard to reach the crime scene, the residents of a nearby house come to a fatal end.

Questioning the attendees in a bid to narrow down the list of suspects, Grimm worries about the treacherous weather isolating them from the rest of the Dales...and his overdue backup. But when a group of strangers arrives in search of an escape from the savage storm, he could be opening the door to another round of murders.

Can he keep everyone safe when the rules turn lethal?

The Dark Hours is the chilling 13th book in the DCI Harry Grimm Crime Thrillers series. If you like gritty protagonists, clever setups, and drama driven by the elements, then you’ll love David J. Gatward’s multi-layered mystery.

This is the latest book and the author continues to write well developed plots with interesting characters. it has classical evil but not so dark that you shudder. Aubrey Parsons gives another great performance. I may actually reread the series or we listen to everything He's such a great character!

New characters, revamping old characters, a great twist and turn or three, and a sneaky little cliffhanger at the last second. This is the best Harry in a while, for sure.

My favorite Harry Grimm so far!

I love this series. Right away, the snowstorm gets us involved in several different goings on. You know each incident will be important to finishing the puzzle of who, what , where and why. The fun is how they all come together, which takes us to non stop listening. I expecially aporeciate Mr Gatward's trust in his readers, and does not rehash previous books to bring his readers up to date.

Truly Clever, so much fun
