About this listen

One box set. Four Books. A must-listen!

How will you survive when the dead rise?

Jack Jupiter knows zombies. He's written about them for years. But no amount of writing can prepare him for the end of the world.

Because these zombies aren't in Jack's head. No, these zombies are real.

Jack Zombie is a thrilling post-apocalyptic series that follows a tight-knit group of people as they travel the zombie-ridden wasteland once known as the United States. As you follow Jack and his family, you'll soon discover that nothing can rival a human's will to survive.

This collection of the first four books in the series—Dead Haven, Dead Hope, Dead Nation, and Dead Coast—will have your heart pounding!

Super drawn out. Make it Make sense

The main character. He is always in a stupid situation. The author writes this character as if he won't ever learn. The whole book series and it's kinda ridiculous by book four. I stopped at book three to write this review. I couldn't deal with this series any longer. Make it make sense At some point you learn from your mistakes. I don't care who you are. The main character is weak ( in every situation) then brave after everyone is dead. A silly combo I can't accurately describe. Constantly captured, beaten then miraculously survive. All other characters die and their story lines are better suited for survival realistically. VERY FRUSTRATING. I wanted to stop listening at book one but I had purchased the collection already. I figured this would get better it didn't. This could have been a good zombie book.

Worst hero I have ever encountered

Dumbest, emotionally irrational, codependent, unrealistic hero that I have unfortunately been subjected to in my 54 years of life. The author has no life experience, has no concept of firearms training, no idea of military protocol, ability, or mind set. Write what you know and research the he'll out of what you don't. This was written by someone who spends more time playing video games than experiencing life and real people. I have never taken the time to write a bad review until now. I suffered through this just so that I could get my monies worth and write this review. Author, please do not write another sentence for the rest of your life.

The dead collection?

Where are the “dead”? …..
At the very beginning? Ok yeah there were some
Book 2…. They make an appearance .
I think I just started just book 3 ,possibly 4 but I’m not going to check, its just so boring and tedious I can’t keep going. Whatever book it is they are already being held at gunpoint and this time………………..by cannibals (shocker).
I’m just going to go ahead an return and hopefully possibly find a actual “Zombie” book, Sorry Mr. Maxwell.

Boring and repetitive

The first book is good. The second was just boring repetitive and just seemed to be written by someone who wasn’t engaged in the work.

This book is design for liberal thinking

weakness is glorified and heros are bad people, it's sad how liberal the writer is in my opinion of how he wrote the story, yes there are funny parts...
love & peace might be the goal, but this is an Apocalyptic story, death is the point.
If you looking for survival skills or bravery its not any characters in this book, it promotes weakness and peace loving action.

I have suffered long enough

The writing is sub par at best. I have read and listened to countless zombie genre books and it’s quite apparent this guy is attempting to do something he aught not to. The development of the characters, the length of time spent on such minuscule details, the way people respond to the dead and so on are very poorly written.

As for Neil Hellegers narrating I listened to the whole first book and started the second and can no longer handle him reading one sentence at a time with a 2 second pause between each.

No common sense

The book started out decent enough. But the farther I got into it I begin to recognize the authors left, leaning ideology. How can you walk across the United States and only have two guns they should be every where and then you’re going to take on an army at this so-called Eden with your two guns, what were you going to do sit down on the road and glue your hands to the street in and Out of Eden. I finally shut this story off halfway through. I don’t believe this group could survive three days in a fully stocked Walmart.

some weird things, but not bad.

the narration was a little dry. the bad guys could use a little more reality.

Not a smooth story.

I don’t think I could be any more irritated by how incompetent the characters are. Constantly freezing and the way the each is moving along it makes it seem as though they are running but oops the “shambling, slow moving” zombies are already there. Ugh it’s like there are parts missing. I can’t finish it.

Very Political

Clearly the author hates half of all Americans, and very preachy about it I read the book to hear a zombie story not to attend a political rally
