Publisher's summary

Lady Sessily is a dark fae, an assassin, and she intends to retire and take up some other occupation so she can lead a normal life. Get a boyfriend. Visit the human world to hassle humans like many of her kind do. Attend fae kingdom parties, not as the mystery woman who is scoping out her next intended victim, but just to have fun. Until tall, dark, handsome, and deadly interrupts her plans. She is on a mission to assassinate a fae lord who is the most evil kind of fae. But when she is thwarted, not once but twice by another fae lord, she is ready to strangle him. And she'll do it for free.

The crown prince of the cobra fae doesn't know what to think when he hires a master assassin who turns out to be a woman - not her father like he'd been led to believe. But can she eliminate one of the most powerful queens of any of the fae kingdoms without getting herself killed? He soon rethinks his plan as he gets to know the woman he begins to think of as his angel assassin.

Poor Narrating

This probably would have been more enjoyable if the narrator would have been better. Her changing of voices was not good and she puts no emotion into the telling. It was like listening to a school child read a book.

A light assassin story

What did you love best about The Deadly Fae?

I loved her choice of weapons. I thought the idea was refreshing and unique.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Lady Sessily because she was smart and independent.

What about Jeanne Whitehouse’s performance did you like?

I really liked her voice and different character voices.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I really liked the ending and that everyone had to work together to accomplish the goal.

Any additional comments?

Lady Sessily just wants to retire from her life as a secret assassin. But the uber sexy Prince Creshion insists she complete one more assassination. The target is the evil Cobra Queen.
I really enjoyed this story.
What I liked most… I absolutely loved Sessily’s choice of weapons to kill. I thought they were unique and ladylike. I liked how she used her wit and stayed a lady throughout the story.
What I didn’t like? Nothing. This is a great story.
I recommend this story if you like fae and a smart independent heroine.

It's just as magical a tale as Book 1!

What did you love best about The Deadly Fae?

The world of fae and the characters are incredible! Terry's imagination is beyond awesome! There's evil queens, sorcerers, kidnappings, non-stop adventure, escapades in the hay and more!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Lady Sessily!!!!! Lady Sessily, an ultra-talented dark fae hunter assassin, is on an assignment when she encounters an obstacle to her plan. That obstacle is a tall, dark and handsome cobra fae who believes that he is gallantly protecting a young boy when he interferes with Lady Sessily's mark. Lady Sessily has to devise a new plan and the same cobra fae is an obstacle again! Then their path cross yet a third time! She can't seem to stay off his radar! By this time, she doesn't know whether she wants to kiss him, slap him or kill him! I loved her feisty, independent, caring and resourceful attitude! She was a survivor!

Which character – as performed by Jeanne Whitehouse – was your favorite?

I loved hos Jeanne voiced Prince Creshion.

The narrator is very good. Her voice was clear and didn't distract me from the story. I like to listen to audibles while exercising. I can immerse myself so deeply in Terry's books, that I look forward to each session and I don't even feel the pain

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Definitely! I laughed, and cried and gasped and shouted NO, NO! I held my breath during the suspenseful parts and held my breath during the hay loft scene!

Any additional comments?

I loved it! This is the 2nd book I've enjoyed from Terry's World of Fae series and it's just as magical a tale as the 1st one! As with the 1st story, this tale would also be perfect for tweens and teens . BUT... it's not just for the young. I really enjoyed it, too, and I'm in my 60s.

The plot was an enchanting and original treasure.

Bottomline: This book is a perfect blend of YA romance, fantasy and unending excitement! It left me amazed, dazed and with a warm fuzzy feeling! Terry's World of Fae ROCKS!

Love this YA world!!

First, I loved that I didn't have to get used to another narrator for this book. It is the same narrator from book 1. My son and I listed to this to and from school for a week. I thoroughly enjoyed it, but my son was a little disappointed that it wasn't a continuation of book 1. He wanted more about Alicia and her prince :) He definitely enjoyed it though and says I have to get more of this series to listen to. I'm turning my son into a Terry Spear fan though I think he will probably only ever listen to the YA books because I doubt romance will ever be his thing.

I really love the audiobooks because my son loves reading, but really struggles with it due to dyslexia. Audiobooks give him a chance to enjoy the story without the stress of reading. Though I'm getting him help with this, so hopefully he will enjoy both in a year or two :)

Terry Spear is a great writer, and you can't go wrong listening or reading one of her books. Off to listen to more of her books :)
