Publisher's summary

Malvern Manor has been many things over the course of its long life. In the late 1800s, it was a hotel catering to travelers and businessmen; then it was converted into a rest home for the sick and infirm; and finally, it became a privately owned care facility, providing a home for the physically and mentally challenged of six counties. It was often the last refuge for those suffering from alcoholism, drug addiction, and severe behavioral disorders.

Long after the building closed its doors for the final time, many people claim some of those residents never left. Now a magnet for paranormal investigators, it is said the abandoned rooms and hallways of Malvern Manor are haunted by the restless spirits of those who once called it home.

Does the spirit of a young hanging victim still linger upstairs, calling out for somebody to play with her? How can Rose, the haunted doll, move around inside her glass case without human intervention? Who is the aggressive shadow man who likes to attack visitors in the nursing wing? And what is the truth behind the malevolent entity that lurks on the second floor?

Join author Richard Estep (TV’s Haunted Case Files) as he and his fellow paranormal investigators take up residence at Malvern Manor and embark on a search for answers.

Not his best

I love Richard Estep and have read/listened to several books and hours of interviews. I'm disappointed that I happened to hear another interview yesterday that misled me in believing there was much more here than there is. There is a very full history of the building and of what can be found of relevant former residents, which is good. A lot of technical investigation details are included throughout, which are interesting. But his team's actual stay at the Manor is frustrating to the point that I question why he wrote the book. And as such I'm very disappointed that I spent a credit for it. Mr Estep is an excellent writer and investigator. This definitely is not one of his best books.

outstanding as usual

I love the extra information added to the book about the location besides the actual information on their investigation.

not really a story

narration likened to an automaton. I felt like I was in a classroom. I wish that there was more srory and less ghosts 101. the title was misleading.

Delightful listening

Audible is fairly new to me but I enjoy listening every chance I get and while I’ve seen different paranormal groups investigate Malvern Manor I love how the author gives his own perspective

A Great Introduction to Malvern Manor

I had heard about Malvern Manor in the past but I mistakenly assumed it was a fake seasonal haunted house. I got this book in preparation of my own trip to Malvern Manor so it was a great introduction. I like the author very much, having already read his book on Villisca. His conversational tone and humor make it fun to read like you are listening to a friend tell you a story.
