Publisher's summary
They call it the fort that saved America.
It is the winter of 1777. The Revolutionary War has raged on for more than two years. In Pennsylvania, the British troops are in dire need of resupply. Those supplies sit in the hold of Royal Navy ships, which stand ready to sail up the Delaware River and deliver them to the hungry redcoats.
Just one thing stands in their way: Fort Mifflin.
Garrisoned by a die-hard band of ragged Colonials, the fort and its artillery batteries maintain a chokehold on the river. The British decide that Fort Mifflin must be taken at all costs and subject it to a bombardment the likes of which North America has never seen. Thousands of cannonballs rain down on the fort while the British prepare to seize it. There can be only one outcome.
Now, 250 years later, Fort Mifflin still guards the Delaware. The spirits of phantom soldiers still walk its grounds. When a team of paranormal researchers comes to investigate, will the fort's long-dead defenders speak? Just who is the shrieking lady whose screams are regularly reported by visitors? Join Richard Estep (TV's Haunted Hospitals and Paranormal 911) as he explores the haunting of North America's most famous and historic fort.

When a spaceship landed in an open field in the quiet mill town of Sorrow Falls, Massachusetts, everyone realized humankind was not alone in the universe. With that realization everyone freaked out for a little while. Or almost everyone. The residents of Sorrow Falls took the news pretty well. This could have been due to a certain local quality of unflappability, or it could have been that in three years the ship did exactly nothing other than sit quietly in that field, and nobody understood the full extent of this nothing the ship was doing better than the people who lived right next door.

Story
Six Minutes to Freedom is the remarkable tale of Kurt Muse's arrest and harrowing months of imprisonment; his eyewitness accounts of torture; and the plight of his family as they fled for their lives. It is also the heart-pounding account of the only American civilian ever rescued by the elite Delta Force. Timelier than ever, this is a thrilling and highly personal narrative about one man's courage and dedication to his beliefs.

Story
A missing schoolgirl is found buried in the Dublin Mountains, hands clasped together in prayer, two red ribbons in her hair. Twenty-four hours later, a second schoolgirl is found in a shallow grave - her body identically arranged. The hunt for the killer is on. The police call in criminal psychologist Kate Pearson to get inside the mind of the murderer before he strikes again. But the more Kate discovers about the killings, the more it all feels terrifyingly familiar.

Story
When a viral apocalypse kills 97 percent of the people on the planet, the survivors' humanity is hanging by a thread. Amid the leftovers of civilization, ex-Army Ranger Jason Larsen is reminded of the meaning of hope, family, and loyalty by a dog and a young boy who are as alone as he is. The survivors he seems to collect become family, and that is very bad news for those who think they run the apocalypse.

The Ancient Egyptian gods have defeated all the other pantheons and claimed dominion over the earth, dividing it into warring factions. Lt. David Westwynter, a British soldier, stumbles into Freegypt, the only place to have remained independent of the gods’ influence. There, he encounters the followers of a humanist leader known as the Lightbringer, who has vowed to rid mankind of the shackles of divine oppression. As the world heads towards an apocalyptic battle, there is far more to this freedom fighter than it seems.

Haunted Forts
This was a great read. Richard Estep talks about the history of the fort, as well as diving into some of the investigations that have been conducted there, including his own.
Overall decent book.
