Publisher's summary

The devil you know or the one you don't? For the Demon Queen and her Rejects, things are guaranteed to get ugly whichever they choose. On the plus side: They know where the Nephilim fleet is being built, they've got a killer new ride, a few surprising new allies, and they don't all hate one another quite as much as they used to. On the minus: The enemy fleet is coming online faster than they hoped, the new ride is running on backup life support, the new allies can barely be trusted, and there isn't anywhere in the galaxy where Thraven can't reach. There's nowhere to rest. There's no time to reload. The stakes are higher, the pressure is up, and only one thing is certain: One way or another, there's going to be hell to pay.

Many cliffhangers

Not fond of...

Soap opera type cliffhangers! I hope this series has an end soon. But, excellent story and a lot of action!

Great addition to the story

There was a part that left me shaking my head as to why -see spoiler below- but still a great continuation of the story. On to the next volume!

SPOILER! Kett really didnt think Thraven would back trace the sniffer satellite? That was the first thing I thoufht of when the Rejects arrived in system. Oh well. It is what it is :)

I am looking forward to the next. I find Abby a delightful heroine. Ideal perspective on responsibilty of leadership & power.

Another Great story.

Well this one was another interesting story, I got my wish and Captain Gaul is no more, now we have the General Kett. I will be looking forward to his demise, the Gloritant I know will have to wait. Onward to the next one.

As outlandish as it is hilarious!

This is one of the more odd SciFi series I've listened to in a long time. Not only are the primary cast of characters multi-species but Jeff Hays magically belts out their lines in such a way that even though they are obviously campy, their dialog actually moves the story along in a zigzag entertaining fashion. Not only is the lead Hell's Reject protagonist some type of brianiac dominatrix with a heart, we have an Elvis sounding Reject, a cynical snark-barking ace pilot Reject and a cute feline/canine psychopathic Reject that Hayes flawlessly performs his animal-like snickers at unpredictable times and others.

Even though I thoroughly enjoyed the entire book, I was a bit disappointed in the less than epic loss of one to the Rejects.

For anyone interested in a re-imagined biblical account of history without all the fire and brimstone (well, er, there is that, just not in a sermonic sense) then you won't be disappointed in this third episode of the series.

Forbes and Hays are awesome!

I listened to this entire series when it was newly released. The story has flaws, but we’re all flawed humans, right? As someone raised Catholic, I especially loved the touch of Catholicism in this series as both antagonist and protagonist forces behind the scenes. Was it blasphemy? Frag no! Then add in the astounding vocalizations by Jeff Hays who gave every major character a distinctive voice and character. His human vocal chords are on par with the bet of Mel Blanc. If that doesn’t compute, look it up. Anyway…not anyways…I hate writers who don’t know correct English grammar. What is accepted is very different from what is supposed to be taught and learned. Oh well, I’m digressing. Jeff Hays ALONE did all male and female voices. He is one of the few narrators smart enough to use the inexpensive, but very effective voice altering technology to its best results. Sometimes too much delay or reverb, but the entire series was a masterpiece. Now, he is the main force behind the troop called Sound Booth Theater. Don’t believe the voices come from one person, watch their YouTube channel. They even perform bits from different book projects they’ve done or might be new. I’ve read the remarks that say negative things about Jeff, and when inspecting them, they never have anything good to say. I believe those kinds of people are called Trolls. I’d call them something else. And even more ridiculous when they can’t even make proper sentences using correct English words.

Why no last book?

No audio book to hear the ending, why? Great story so far. Be nice to hear the end
