About this listen

The much anticipated third installment of the Whidbey Island saga

Whidbey Island, a place of secrets and mystery, is home now for Becca King, still in hiding from her criminal stepfather. But Becca and her friends have new worries, as a series of fires are being set, the latest causing a fatality. Is one of the newcomers to blame? Perhaps it's Isis Martin's brother, just back from a school for troubled kids, or Parker, a musician fired by his bandmates. Meanwhile, Becca herself continues to slowly explore her own paranormal abilities under the tutelage of Diana Kinsale.

Elizabeth George, nominated for an Edgar and an Agatha award for The Edge of Nowhere, her first book set on Whidbey Island, proves once again that she is a suspense novelist without peer.

I can't wait for the next one! when will it be ready? I'm all ears! I love everything she writes!

great coming of age story

I read everything Elizabeth George writes. I don't really like this series and, after reading the print edition of "Edge of the Water," I realize that the Audible narrator is the cause. She speaks in an over-enunciated monotone bored whine and has a dreadful habit of pronouncing "them" as "thum" and "something" as "sthumthing". Unfortunately, there are hundreds of those two words in the work. I ended this novel depressed and irritable. I bought the final installment, but I don't think even George is enough incentive to convince me to subject myself to that appalling voice. I wish I could return it.

Most annoying narrator EV-ER

Struggled to finish, but it was a good story. I can wait to listen to the next one.

OMG‼️‼️ I think this narrator has watched Mean Girls, Clueless and Legally Blonde a few too many times and turned these kids into the worse possible version of Valley Girls.
Our 19 year old granddaughter has lived with us for years and has had many, many friend over and not one of them talks remotely like these characters.
I tried but could not take it…I’m returning.

Narration Spoiled it for me
