A week's holiday in a luxurious hotel is just what Scotland Yard's Superintendent Duncan Kincaid needs. But his vacation ends dramatically with the discovery of a dead body in the whirlpool bath. Despite a suspicious lack of cooperation from the local constabulary, Kincaid's keen sense of duty won't allow him to ignore the heinous crime, impelling him to send for his enthusiastic young assistant, Sergeant Gemma James. But the stakes are raised significantly when a second murder occurs, and Kincaid and James find themselves locked in a determined hunt for a fiendish felon looking for fresh blood....

If you could sum up A Share in Death in three words, what would they be?
Interesting, puzzling, engaging. What did you like best about this story?
I enjoyed the characters and the glimpses into the motivations and hidden parts of their lives and actions. They are not all black and white, but complex and interesting. There are still enough likable ones to keep me reading. It is fun to see the beginnings of the developing relationship between Kincaid and Jenna James. What about Michael Deehy’s performance did you like?
Easy to listen to; not obtrusive or distracting. Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I think the climax, although a bit predictable, was still moving.Any additional comments?
Great British mystery for fans of cozy and not too gory mysteries. Well written.Vintage Kincaid and James

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, it was an interesting story, not so predictable, likable characters, and not twisted gory nightmare material.Have you listened to any of Michael Deehy’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I think this is my first book with this narrator, very pleasant voice. Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I admit i was really looking forward to getting the in the car and seeing how my friends at the time share were doing!Any additional comments?
Definitely worth a try, and for me, I'll get more books in this series.PLEASANTLY SURPRISED

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
I was underwhelmed. The ending comes out of nowhere, and I felt it made a lot of aspects of the story unnecessary. What does Michael Deehy bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
A great voice... I wish everything in my life could be narrated by a British man.Was A Share in Death worth the listening time?
I would say it is if you are like me. I can listen to books while at work, so it was nice to get me through my day, but I wouldn't have taken time out of my day to listen to it.Any additional comments?
It wasn't a bad book in any sense, it just wasn't all that exciting. And there wasn't enough character development to really get you to care about them.Enjoyable enough
