About this listen
The Ego Matter: About the Importance of Autonomy for Realizing Your True Self (Scholarly Articles, Vol. 7) is an extensive personal guide manual helping the listener to become aware of their unique soul values. The author came to call our unique power potential primary power or self-power at first, before he introduced the term soul power. The guide not only explains what soul power is, how it can be developed and strengthened, but also what stands in the way to developing it.
The author explains that the main obstacle to developing soul power is parent-child codependence and emotional abuse, that the author sees as a form of addiction and which he calls symbiotoholism. After more than 20 years of research on emotional abuse, the author sees the primary etiology of parent-child emotional entanglement, and the fusional entanglement of people with groups and organizations in lacking tactile care of mothers for their infants, and later on, the refusal to grant adolescents a sufficient amount of autonomy to develop their psychosexual love map and gather emosexual experience.
When we grasp the notion of autonomy, we see that all human growth has a destination - and that is why we say we have a destiny. The destination of youth is not to remain young, but to grow old. The destiny of a child is not to remain in childhood but to grow out of childhood. Building soul power requires to discover one’s self, to build a genuine identity. The author shows that building a genuine soul identity is done through discovering our innocence, realizing our primary power, developing our soul reality, accepting our marginality instead of striving for conformity, recovering and healing our inner child, discovering, and integrating our shadow, and our projections, and learning to see that a holographic image of the whole of mythology and human evolution is contained in our soul.

Humanity now, perhaps more than in any previous time, has an opportunity to create a new, saner, more loving world. This will involve a radical inner leap from the current egoic consciousness to an entirely new one. In illuminating the nature of this shift in consciousness, Tolle describes in detail how our current ego-based state of consciousness operates. Then gently, and in very practical terms, he leads us into this new consciousness. We will come to experience who we truly are and learn to live and breathe freely.

Winner of the Pulitzer Prize in 1974 and the culmination of a life's work, The Denial of Death is Ernest Becker's brilliant and impassioned answer to the "why" of human existence. In bold contrast to the predominant Freudian school of thought, Becker tackles the problem of the vital lie: man's refusal to acknowledge his own mortality. In doing so, he sheds new light on the nature of humanity and issues a call to life and its living that still resonates more than 30 years after its writing.

Dr. Abigail Favale provides an in-depth yet accessible account of the gender paradigm: a framework for understanding reality and identity that has recently risen to prominence. With substance, clarity, and compassion, Favale teases out the hidden assumptions of the gender paradigm and exposes its effects. Yet this book is not merely an exposé—it is also a powerful, moving articulation of a Christian understanding of reality: a holistic paradigm that proclaims the dignity of the body, the sacramental meaning of sexual difference, and the interconnectedness of all creation.

Story
What does it really mean to be a grown-up in today's world? We assume that once we "get it together" with the right job, marry the right person, have children, and buy a home, all is settled and well. But adulthood presents varying levels of growth and is rarely the respite of stability we expected. Turbulent emotional shifts can take place anywhere between the ages of 35 and 70 when we question the choices we've made, realize our limitations, and feel stuck - commonly known as the "midlife crisis".

Within each of us, there is a deep, powerful source for living lives of love, creativity, and fulfillment. To imagine this foundation for life and the energy it produces is to imagine ourselves and our world filled with the influence of the archetypal feminine - her passionate creativity, love, and ageless knowing. Personally and culturally, this force - which lives at the heart of our lives - has been wounded and diminished until it seems to have retreated beyond the horizon of a world filled with rationalism and an anxious, endless need for achievement.

Story
A single purpose lies at the heart of all the great religious traditions: awakening to the astonishing reality of the true nature of ourselves and the universe. At the same time, through centuries of cultural accretion and focus on myth and ritual as ends in themselves, this core insight has become obscured. Here Ken Wilber provides a path for reenvisioning a religion of the future that acknowledges the evolution of humanity in every realm while remaining faithful to that original spiritual vision.

Story
At the beginning of his career, Joseph Campbell developed a lasting fascination with the cultures of the Far East, and explorations of Buddhist and Hindu philosophy later became recurring motifs in his vast body of work. However, Campbell had to wait until middle age to visit the lands that inspired him so deeply. In 1954, he took a sabbatical from his teaching position and embarked on a year-long voyage through India, Thailand, Cambodia, Burma, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and finally Japan.
