Publisher's summary

Change is coming to insurance. The tradition-bound P&C industry is on the cusp of the most radical change since the invention of the automobile. And leaders are unprepared for the size, scale, and speed of what's to come from the wave of millennials, new technology, and venture capital funding coming our way.

Insurance has been largely immune to upheavals for reasons that startups do not comprehend. Brand recognition, reams of customer data, legal contracts, and regulation all make insurance much harder to conquer for insurtech startups. But this time is truly different. Forces have been unleashed that will upend the industry sooner than you think.

Collaborate or compete? Start small or go big? Pure tech play or MGA? The End of Insurance as We Know It bridges the divide between the traditional players, startups, and investors to show the areas where opportunities for disruption are ripe and what technologies you need to know about to stay relevant in our revolutionary time. Learn why insurance is the perfect digital product and gain a competitive edge no matter where you stand today in the ecosystem.

Rob Galbraith has 20 years of experience implementing innovative ideas in the P&C insurance industry to expand markets and improve profitability. Known as The Most Interesting Man in Insurance, Rob is a frequent speaker at industry conferences, recognized thought leader, and insurtech influencer.

Decent content, poor audio

Surprisingly poor audio quality, though I assume most are not listening to this book for it’s entertainment value. Specifically, fluctuating audio quality sentence by sentence and awkward stopping and staring mid-sentence. Surprised this made it through Audible’s quality check.

Don’t regret reading it, but geared towards millennials with no insurance or tech background

As a new entrant to insure tech coming from a tech background, I was hoping for some more novel insights. I’ve been working in the insurance industry for a few months now trying to gain experience before going into insure tech full on, and even based on that few months this made most of the concepts introduced in the first half of the book majority repeated content.

If you’re thinking about the industry and don’t have a little bit of a tech background and zero insurance background, this a is a great 101 and introduction. Barring the HORRIBLE production quality, it’s monotone and sounds like two narrators switching every other sentence. I think a bit ironic that a book supposedly about tech had such a poor investment in the quality of production...

Great story terrible recording

I liked the book and what it provided to me as someone looking to learn more about insurance. The production is laughably bad though. Hopefully they can do another recording sometime in the futur

Not for those with a good understanding of insurance

It felt like 80% of this book was just a review of what insurance is and how it works. The other 20% was a review of how technology can help streamline the insurance industry. For anyone with significant experience in insurance this isn’t worth your time. For those new to the industry this could be a good intro to the possibilities within the industry and your career.

Awful narration

Don't make an audio book if you can't have a decent narrator. So many obvious edits, volume fluctuation, and mumbled words with a slang such as pronouncing "hoed" when she's saying the word "hold". If you're in the industry and know what "AMD" means, then I doubt you'll get much benefit from this book.

don't run from the narrator

I almost canceled this right away due to the very obvious amateur narration however, I stuck with it and am better off for it. very helpful and informative, and information you need in regards to new insurance.

A tremendous tour of insurance and the business

The title led me to believe it is all about cutting-edge innovation, but it also goes back into the nuts and bolts of insurance and all kinds of aspects of it, in a clear, understandable way. I think a potential consumer or investor would want to have this background to make intelligent decisions. Anyone could benefit from this. I found the narrator skillful and very engaging.

Amazing Guide to the Future of Insurance

Excellent book for newcomers to insurance that lays out a path to what the future will look like for the industry. Full of great insights about the current drivers of innovation and how firms and people coming into the industry can continue to build a culture of innovation to drive insurance into a new technologically advanced age. I would highly recommend this for individuals looking to get into the industry and seasoned professionals in the industry looking for a roadmap for how insurance is evolving.

Borrring

This is horrible / I’m in the insurance industry and there is so
Much more I expected from this…. I’m not one of those agents who talks just to here themselves and this book is very much fluff talk like that.
