About this listen

Protecting humans from dangerous magical creatures is all in a day's work for a faerie training to be a guardian. Seventeen-year-old Violet Fairdale knows this better than anyone - she's about to become the best guardian the Guild has seen in years. That is until a cute human boy who can somehow see through her faerie glamour follows her into the fae realm. Now she's broken Guild Law, a crime that could lead to her expulsion.

The last thing Vi wants to do is spend any more time with the boy who got her into this mess, but the Guild requires that she return Nate to his home and make him forget everything he's discovered of the fae realm. Easy, right? Not when you factor in evil faeries, long-lost family members, and inconvenient feelings of the romantic kind.

Vi is about to find herself tangled up in a dangerous plot - and it'll take all her training to get out of it alive.

I thought I could predict exactly where this book was headed. I couldn't have been more wrong. Im happy I was wrong, but I almost gave up on the series. I really like violet the main character. Her story is worth reading. I find her to be interesting, strong and relatable. Its definitely written for a young audience but I still enjoyed it and got caught up in her story.

Don't judge a book by its first 3 chapters

Would you listen to Creepy Hollow Series # 1 again? Why?

Yes! Although this book was slow to get going, in my opinion, the characters grew on me and I immediately liked Violet, the main character.

What other book might you compare Creepy Hollow Series # 1 to and why?

I was constantly reminded of Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instruments. The Guardians reminded me very much of the Shadow Hunters in Clare's novels. Morgan's Guardians train to protect humans from the more malicious beings from Faerie and they also use a variety of weapons and gadgets similar to those in the Mortal Instruments books.

Have you listened to any of Jorjeana Marie and Zach Villa ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have not. I thought they did a great job narrating!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Not in the very beginning, but the further I got into the book, the more I wanted to just sit and finish listening.

Any additional comments?

Great narration and an intriguing story that is just beginning. Looking forward to all that will unfold in the next books!

Charming YA Fantasy

Loved it!

slow chatacter development and akward switch of narrators towards the end. The world and characters have so much potential that you want to be really excited about the story. However, the story begins to drag on as the obvious is not noted by the main character. Perhaps they will catch on better in the second book?

interesting concept, but...

I'm so eager to get to The Faery Prince, I can barely form coherent thoughts and cohesive sentences to express said thoughts, but I shall try.
I love this book. Violet is an amazing heroin, strong, but realistically so. And though she lives in a world very different to our own, she still relatable. Speaking of her world, I love the slight twist of traditional faery lore.
Each character is compelling and three-dimensional; everyone seems to have their own unique voice and backstory.
I was just as shocked and distraught as Violet during one scene of betrayal, But I'm extremely excited for the the next turn the book took near the end. Something new blossoming that I cannot wait to watch play out.
Rachel Morgan is a talented author who I cannot wait to read more from. She neither under or over describes. She gives us enough detail to believe that these places are real to her mind, and help us to see and imagine what she does.
Well, I think I did a pretty good job of getting all of my thoughts out. Now I'm off to read book 2. And while I do that, I strongly encourage you all to read this one :-)

This is a great start to, what I expect will be, an awesome Series
