About this listen

A daring rescue. A difficult choice. Sophie desperately wants to get away from her stepmother's jealousy and believes escape is her only chance to be happy. Then a young man named Gabe arrives from Hagenheim Castle, claiming she is betrothed to his older brother, and everything twists upside down. This could be Sophie's one chance at freedom - but can she trust another person to keep her safe?

Gabe defied his parents, Rose and Wilhelm, by going to find Sophie, and now he believes they had a right to worry: The girl's inner and outer beauty has enchanted him. Though romance is impossible - she is his brother's future wife, and Gabe is betrothed to someone else - he promises himself he will see the mission through, no matter what. When the pair flee to the Cottage of the Seven, they find help - but also find their feelings for each other have grown. Now both must not only protect each other from the dangers around them - they must also protect their hearts.

Love her books!

Can’t wait till a new series comes out! The reading is always exciting with never slow boring moments and not overly dramatic that it isn’t realistic. Jude Mason’s voice is one of my favorites.

Great rendition but would change the performance a little bit

I really like how the author takes the tale of Snow White and gives her own rendition as if her historical fiction were the origin of the tale. It's very interesting and well-thought.

If I could change anything, it would be a slight tweak in the performance of the narrator. She has a nice femenine voice but she over-does it when performing the character of Sophie. She makes Sophie sound more like a child than a young woman. It's different from the voices she uses for the other female protagonists in other books by this author and it's a little distracting.

Happily Ever After

Very enjoyable audiobook. Always a pleasure when good triumphs over evil and those who should be together get to be together.

Good series but book so so

I had a hard time with the immature brain of 16 year old Sophie. A lot of silly fluff and I love him after 24 hour moments.
