About this listen

A violent attacker is on the loose. His calling card: a tattoo on his victims' skin. With no witnesses and no evidence left at the crime scenes, it will take all of the National Crime Agency's resources to track him down.

At the head of the investigation, codenamed Operation Juniper, Senior Investigator Joanne Stuart knows that the clock is ticking. The time between abductions is decreasing and the perpetrator grows ever more brazen. She fears it won't be long before his assaults turn deadly.

As the hunt closes in, Jo's already troubled personal life is put under further pressure. With danger closer than she thinks, just how far will Jo go to solve the case - and at what cost?

Politically correct tripe

The characters are cardboard, the preechiness is overwhelming, and the pace is below snail-like. I wanted to like this novel and gave it every chance, but it was just painful. I won't be buying another from this author.

Serial date rapist

Two and a half...Not terrible, but not great. I doubt crime fighting is anything like this in the UK, but it seems like the author is more interested in providing social commentary on the menace of date rape and male chauvinism than writing a decent police procedural. Jo is a super detective fighting all manifestations of misogyny, with an arsenal of cop toys that would make James Bond jealous. She's in thd UK's politically correct version of the FBI.

Just a couple of rants...Ketamine is a form of GHB? The whole thing is pretty far fefched. I can't imagine any 'unsub' would be able to pull off these elaborate crimes. He's got a ton of GHB and rophies; those drugs dried up like 15-20 years ago, but somehow this guy's got a trove of the stuff. Abbie (Jo's ex) appears to be such a whiny, sniveling, self centered b****, I can't imagine why Jo would give her the time of day. I found myself disappointed that Abbie was not one of the victims. Please, no more Abbie storylines! Can you give Jo a proper lesbian partner to love?
