About this listen

Miles Cameron weaves a tale of magic and depravity in the sequel to The Red Knight.

Loyalty costs money.

Betrayal, on the other hand, is free.

When the Emperor is taken hostage, the Red Knight and his men find their services in high demand - and themselves surrounded by enemies. The country is in revolt, the capital city is besieged, and any victory will be hard won. But the Red Knight has a plan.

The question is, can he negotiate the political, magical, real, and romantic battlefields at the same time - especially when he intends to be victorious on them all?

Very entertaining! A great follow up to the Red Knight. Looking forward to the next book of the series.

Good read

I have been doing a deep dive into the decade's fantasy offerings, and really can't think of anything that surpasses Miles Cameron's work if you are looking for the energetic, LOTR/GOT sort of flash, clash and dash classic. Further, I really think Matthew Wolf may be the very finest voice artist on Audible. Unlike other male narrators, his female characters are authentic rather than distracting, and the range of his vocalizations... Well, incredible. And necessary, in that Mile Cameron is unafraid of an epic sweep of characters that are critical to the forward motion of the plot. Really love these books.

Fabulous, classic fantasy.

Fast start... Slow burn middle... Satisfying ending. Looking forward to the next. If you enjoyed the Red Knight this book is not quite on the same level. Doesn't have the same constant "palpable tension". Still an excellent read and you'll definitely want to continue. Narration is again flawless.

Nice second book!

I’ve listened to the series like three times now and it never disappoints! Would recommend for fantasy and SCA and HEMA fans alike.

like seriously how do you change the name of some of your main characters from book to book I can't wait to see what other editing problems they will have in store for me. That aside I loved this book. The Red Knight is just so awesome throughout. lots of great action and story threads. I love books with too many characters so this was a real treat for me. also I started book 3 and the narrator isn't as awful as some say.

Great Book with Huge editing issues

If you could sum up The Fell Sword in three words, what would they be?

Wow! Wonderful! Wow!

What did you like best about this story?

Love the world Cameron has built. Can you visualize medieval Europe with magic?! GREAT characters, both primary and secondary, incredible attention to detail, and consistent story threads make this a wonderful book!!

Have you listened to any of Matthew Wolf’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

So far only Book 1 & 2 by Miles Cameron. Loving it! He seems to be one of the few who actually read the book first and enjoyed it himself.

Any additional comments?

Great series!

Cannot say enough GREAT things!!

Fell Sword was well written and a great next addition to the red night. Enjoyed the writing, great action and battle sequences. The action sequences are not over done at all with the perfect level of detail. The character development in this book was excalent, and maybe a little excessive for one book. This book felt a little like a filler in preperation for the next book. Including storylines that were vague, and a little confusing at times. all and all a great read and a Necessity for what I hope continues to be an epic saga. I Can't wait for the next book.

very enjoyable can't wait for the next instalment.
