About this listen

Foxxxy Golden Rule: Foxxxy is family.

When Luca’s life in Boston falls apart, he must leave behind his home, his job, and his chosen family—the feisty dancers of the Foxxxy Gentlemen’s Club. But his trip takes an unexpected turn when a blizzard careens him off the road and into the home of David, a Canadian silver fox who is every one of Luca’s lumberjack fantasies come to life.

It’s been three years since David’s divorce, and while he’s content with his remote rural life, he feels there’s something missing. He doesn’t know what that something is until a captivating young dancer crashes his car outside his cabin in the middle of a snowstorm and reminds David that there is more to life than simply existing.

Neither Luca nor David planned for this detour, but they only have to survive two days together in close quarters. How hard could it be? It’s not like 48 hours is long enough to fall in love. Or is it?

Discover how Luca and his sexy Canuck, David, met in this prequel novella to the Foxxxy series.

A Delightful Cozy Canadian Cabin Romance

I had so thoroughly enjoyed this e-book (review below), I knew hearing it in audio would be just as entertaining. Narrator John York has a pleasant voice, and delivered a solid performance here. I appreciated how he slipped in some Canadian pronunciations for David, though it didn't seem entirely consistent.

Having read the first two Foxxxy Gentlemen's Club books, where we've gotten peeks at the HEA for former Foxxxy dancer Luca and his lumberjack silver fox beau David, I've been curious about their story. Add to that the forced proximity (a favorite trope) at play here, and it made for a wonderfully entertaining read.

Luca (27) and David (43) are kind and very likeable MCs who have instant chemistry and good senses of humor, and their cozy cabin in the snowy Canadian wilderness romance was super sweet and playful.

And surprisingly funny...I was snort-laughing by the third paragraph with Luca's G00gle Maps adventure (been there!), and Luca's many naughty thoughts about his gracious, sexy host were delightful. All told, their love story was a great mood booster that had me smiling throughout.

If you're new to this series, this prequel novella is a great place to start since it actually does relate to the other books. It's been a great series so far, and I'm looking forward to more HEAs for the Foxxxy Boys (I'm lookin' at you, Pie!). I received free review copies of this audio book and e-book (also read in KU) and have left this honest review voluntarily.

Luca was a fun character I enjoyed his and his lumberjacks story I kinda wish there had been a bit more about the club in this one but I still enjoyed getting to know them both and the cabin setting and accents I liked Lucas friendship with his coworkers and am excited to read more from this series

Luca and David

After getting little glimpses of Luca we FINALLY get to meet the man. He's brash and a bit unsure at the same time. I laughed along with him when he teased poor David mercilessly. David's loneliness is tangible. He's also kind, thoughtful, and loves deeply. I liked that he still considered his ex-wife his best friend and the gift he was making for her just proved what a great guy he was. He obviously adores his daughter and carries guilt over how the divorce affected her. My favorite thing was that David made the first move (with Chrissy's help) to ask Luca for a relationship. He was so brave.

Audiobook: I love this narrator!

Sexy, Simple and Sweet little Novella!

This was a fun prequel for this series. I liked that it actually took place outside of the FoXXXy Club so we actually just got little glimpses of the characters who will star in the series romances! The narrator did hilarious impressions of Christian on the phone! This romance for Luca and David is a standalone with David rescuing Luca in the snow and taking him to his cabin. Luca is quite hyper and a bit on edge, and the narrator brought out his personality with drama and flare! David is calmer and more laid back but a bit lonely so you can just see Luca is going to bring light into his life! It is insta chemistry and the jokes about porn Canadian Mounties are priceless! Quick, Steamy and Adorable listen!

A Delightfully Heartfelt Foxxxy Story & Listen🎧

I absolutely loved the first book in this series “The Foxxxy Gentleman’s Club: Christian” and I was so happy to hear another book from the series is available on audio too. Nikole Knight created something special with this series, the characters are amazing and so is the camaraderie amongst the Foxxxy family. This book is Luca and David’s story and shows how they met and became a couple. After a breakup with his boyfriend of five years, Luca was broke and without a place to life, so he left Boston and his Foxxxy family behind and headed back home to Michigan, except his GPS had other plans for him, taking him to Canada and in the middle of nowhere and to make matters worse he gets caught in a snowstorm and skids off the road avoiding something in the road. David live a quiet life away from the world, he likes it where he is but feels like something is missing and when he rescues the young man from his car that landed in a snowbank, he knows exactly what he was missing, him. Luca was happy to be rescued and his rescuer was not only easy on the eyes but kind and caring, too. The chemistry between them is undeniable and stranded with nowhere to go, they could only deny each other for so long. I loved how everything played out in this book, the story is wonderfully plotted with the perfect balance of drama, heartfelt emotions and a charming and steamy romance. Nikole Knight, thank you for another entertaining story and emotional rollercoaster ride. I am loving these foxxxy dancers!

🎧📚🎧And for the wonderful narration, John York continues to do an amazing job bringing these characters and their story to life. He has a complete understanding of the characters he is portraying, gives each a voice that suited that character’s persona to the tee sounding believable and just as I pictured the characters to sound. You could hear how much heart he put into his work as he captured all the characters’ emotions and projected them into his performance. John York is an entertaining storyteller and a versatile voice artist, his narration enhances this amazing story another level. Thank you for another fabulous listen.

Cute Story, Good Narration

Sweet and entertaining this was a short story about close proximity, age gap and meet cute in a blizzard. Luca was funny and flirty, David was solid and capable, they were a great couple, I enjoyed following their feelings grow from first attraction to HEA. Narrator did a great job with all the voices and story. This story can be enjoyed as a standalone, but I think listening to Christian's book increased my enjoyment.

Luca & His Canuck

This is a cure prequel to this series. This chance meeting between Luca and David was fun and enjoyable to read but the narration made it even better.

I received an ARC and this is my unbiased opinion

Turn Up the Speed!

I LOVED THIS AUDIOBOOK!!! And it's a novella!!! It actually surprises me to say that, because at first it drove me nuts. The speed of John York's narration was just too slow. Then, I remembered that you can change the speed (I changed mine to 1.2) and VOILA! the problem was solved!
About the book--no spoilers here, read the blurb for that. I usually cannot stand novellas, cuz they cut right to the...ahem...lovemaking. A good sexy m/m needs a nice setup. You have to really feel for the guys. This one is that and more!!! Yes, is the same old trope. But, it is written so well by Nicole Knight that it had me *gasping* right along with the guys! I read a TON of m/m romance, follow only a few. This author has found a new fan!
