About this listen

Professional Quarterback Austin Riley is finally seeing his dreams come to fruition - he has a ring under his belt, he is one of the league's top contenders for future Hall of Fame recognition, he is building a family legacy, and just months away, he will be marrying the woman he's loved since before he understood what love truly meant: Sommer Hayes.

But it is in times of invincibility that a man's true nature is tested. His past comes back to haunt him in a way he never expected. After all of the media scrutiny that nearly tore his family apart, he finds himself having to choose between putting the spotlight back on the mess he has created or keeping a secret from Sommer, knowingly building their marriage...on a lie.

Very well written!

I’m happy I decided to get both books. I was a little worried at first, I was not adjusting well to the narrator’s approach. But the more I listened the better it got. I enjoyed every part of the story and the narrator’s voice.

Not What I Expected

I wish I stopped after book one, but I’m a glutton for punishment. I read the summary, so I knew Austin and Sommer were going to experience trials. There’s something soothing about a complete HEA in one book. This “sequel” left me in too much angst for the majority of the book after I thought the HEA occurred. No fault to the author, but I personally listen to romance for escapism from the harsh reality of flawed people, so I only kept listening to get to the HEA, not because I enjoyed it. If you like a little treachery with your romance, you’ll love this book.

The narration wasn’t great. The actor needs work on her accents, because it was painful to listen to one of her character portrayals.

Give this series a try

I was hesitant to listen to this series at first, but I figured why not. The narrator is nowhere near the worst or best. The male voice that she portrayed is the only thing that got me, but back to why I say give this Audible a try.

The author captures real-life scenarios that a couple can encounter when they finally open up to a relationship with each other.

There were several times that I was ready to curse the MMC out for the steps he took to protect himself or not hurt the MFC when a certain situation happened before them.

After the hurdles they encountered, they made it to the
finish line.

I loved this!

Oh my goodness!! So many emotions. There were moments I wantedto scream out of frustration. Cry out of desperation. Laugh for the pleasure of it all. Believe because it’s possible. I know it’s a writer’s imagination but dang, it seems so real. This is a fabulous read. Enjoy!😊💕❤️

I think I like this one a bit more vs book 1, though I like them both.

SoFrustrating

I wanted to love this book as much as the first one, but Austin made me want to strangle him! He was too deceitful to believe. He raged on about honesty in the first book and then turned into her father in the second book. I wanted her to leave him by 3/4 through the book. He had so many chances to come clean, and I just knew he would...but no! Just keep lying, knowing that Carmen is hanging with your wife? That was a step too far. He played her like boo boo the fool and she shouldn't have stayed with him.

Not logical., too many holes

I enjoyed the 1st book and wanted to like this one just as much. The relationship between Summer & Carmen didn't make sense to me. The author wrote Summer as being perceptive & intuitive and then made her oblivious. Also, if Austin's eye color was so rare how could Summer not notice AJ's eyes? I also didn't understand making Austin so deceptive .This had the promise of a good story. It just didn't work for me.
