Publisher's summary

The Genovese family created a name for themselves from their decades-long reign over the streets of New York, dominating from the 1930s through the 21st century.

Created from a small gang led by Giuseppe Morello, these humble beginnings of Sicilian roots transformedinto one of the most memorable—and oldest—names in Mafia history.

As part of the original “Five Families,” the Genovese family wielded their power to the scheme, striking fear and commanding respect to make millions of dollars all over the city.

If you want to discover everything there is to know about the Genovese family’s reign and crime spree while exploring the origins of the Mafia in general, look no further than The Genovese Mafia Crime Family.

Capitalizing on the extreme privation of the Great Depression, members of the Genovese family built their way up through the power structure of La Cosa Nostra. Mob bosses and associates alike had threats at every turn, and the risk of being taken out lived on no matter your spot on the hierarchy. In spite of constant dethronement attempts, the Genovese family remained at the top for decades.

The growth of the mafia

The mafia is a business just like any other enterprise. It was interesting learning their history and seeing how they learned to adapt their business model to changing times to allow their enterprise to stay in business and prosper. Paranoia and snitches make for more restructuring of the organization. Adapt and change or become extinct, and they've learned. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a great job bringing it to life.

JUST LOVE IT!

This is a great audiobook about probably the most important mafia family in the history of organized crime. Great parts about Vito Genovese and Vincent''CHIN'' Gigante. The vivid narration makes it a standout for true crime lovers.
