About this listen

Complete silence filled the room until an unexpected sound brought Emma out of her slumber and into the mystery of the girl next door.

Sherwood is a sleepy little town. A town full of friendly faces and even friendlier neighbors. Which is why FBI agent Emma Griffin isn't surprised when her new neighbor starts stopping by to chat. Turns out her neighbor has a dark past and secrets that made her run.

As much as Emma wished it wasn’t true, a dark past and secrets are things that she is far too familiar with, especially now more than ever.

A chilling "unknown" filled the air of Sherwood, Virginia.

Strange things are happening around Emma. Things that no one can explain, and many don't believe.

And Emma witnesses two figures hidden by sheer curtains, strangling a smaller figure. A figure she can only assume to be Ruby's. She becomes a witness to the murder of the girl next door. But what do you do when no one believes that the girl even existed?

Emma’s world starts to spin, and she begins to wonder - Is someone taunting her and taking lives to torment her? Or, has she truly gone crazy?

The Girl Next Door is the fourth book in the Emma Griffin Mystery series, and it can be listened to as a stand-alone.

I didn't care much for the second or third books. I really enjoyed the first one and this one brought me back in.
the only thing in struggling to understand is why is she wasting time with sam? he has proved to be a dick many times. refused to believe her when she's shown him proof, why bother? familiar face? I dunno, other than that, solid book. the ending was a little popcorn fart but good story throughout.

okay okay.

The story was full of mystery and suspense and the character for Sam was so damn annoying. I couldn’t believe that he just was so resistant to believe they were setting Emma up

Great story

Emma is still in Sherwood and trying to unravel the mystery that is her parents when she believes that she witnessed the murder of her new neighbor. The problem…there is no body and Emma’s other neighbors have never met or seen the new woman. Other events occur that only Emma witnesses and even Sam is not believing her. Quite frankly, Sam was beginning to act on my nerves with his condescending attitude. That said, this book kept me on my toes and was quite enjoyable…did not see the ending coming.

AJ RIVERS is an excellent "comfortable story" author. That's not to say she doesn't write great action, or thrilling distress situations because she does. The comfort comes in knowing that you will not be disappointed in this series!

Another excellent Installment!

Claire the narrator is awesome. Keeps you in guessing the entire book.

5 star read

Awesome

I'm not sure how many times 1 person can get kidnapped or almost murdered, much less an FBI agent. Add to that the annoyance that Sam never believes her about anything and she is more trained than he is at his job. Is she a FBI agent or not? I'd never date that a hole for not believing me and helping me and always patronizing me, who does that? Maybe Sam being the Target would have been more believed with Emma saving him?? IDK, I really didn't like the thought of her being treated like a civilian child instead of the trained FBI Agent that she is..Annoyed.

This is probably my least favorite Emma griffin book yet. She is an FBI agent who was a risk taker and confident and in this book she seemed so weak and helpless. I also hate Sam in this book I loved their relationship when we first saw him in the second book but he was horrible is this book! How did he not believe one word she said until the very end. I don’t know why Emma let him talk to her that way.

Love hate relationship
