About this listen

When high school student Audrey Perez moves to a town that's supposedly home to a haunted mansion, she and a few of her new friends decide to investigate. Audrey is quickly swept up in a macabre mystery and eerie adventure that holds the fate of the Haunted Mansion's 999 happy haunts in the balance. A storm is coming—both literally and figuratively—and it'll be up to Audrey and her friends to save the Mansion—and its ghosts—before it's too late. But can Audrey do so while dealing with her own anxieties and while caught in a love triangle between her boyfriend and the enigmatic Sterling—who just might be a ghost?

Carry on, foolish mortal, if you dare . . .

Haunted mansion

Ok so this book as a whole is actually really good.
The story is really great and it does have the mansion in it.
My only downside is it should have MORE of the mansion and MORE of the ghosts. All the ghosts that we know are merely mentioned every once in awhile and more often in the very last few chapters equaling to about 20-30 minutes out of the whole 7 and a half hour book.
It was all about the girl, her friends, and this one ghost we’ve never heard of before, trying to beat this great evil ghost killer thing.
A great ghost story in and of itself but barely anything about the mansion which is the whole reason I bought it.
If you’re wanting this book for the ride references don’t get it but if you want it because of the ghost story part of it then definitely get it.
The writing was great but I did find a few chapters being a bit repetitive with the characters anxiety issues and how she was dealing with them. T
the person who read the story had an amazing voice which held you in until the end.
9/10 for sure.

Great YA Ghost Story with Real World Issues

Claudia Gray has done it again! Such a fantastic author and she’s written a great YA story that has an amazing subplot that a lot of youth and adults need to hear. As someone who has dealt with Anxiety all her life, it was refreshing to see someone addressing this well and learning to deal with it head-on. The ghosts and The Mansion were great and the three girls were wonderful. Just a fantastic story! The narrator was brilliant too! Wonderful collection of voices and does a great job of making the characters come to life without diminishing anything in the kids’ lives. 5 stars all around!

Good, but not great!

i consider myself a huge Haunted Mansion fan. This book was enjoyable but definitely started slow and is more of a teen drama that becomes a Haunted Mansion book. the sexond half is. whole lot better than the first half! if you enjoy a ghost story give it a read, but if you wantva good Haunted Mansion book read tales from the Haunted Mansion vol.1 -4!

Cute!

YA is not my go-to genre; this story was way out of my comfort zone. However, I enjoyed it and thought it was a cute spooky story. I’m sure writing about such an iconic ride can be intimidating, but the author did great.

the storyline and progression.

I really enjoyed the story. I wish the main character and her bf got more time to develop together.

Great Follow Up to/in Tales from the haunted mansion series

I started with the Tales from the haunted mansion books and then read this book. I feel the correct Reading order is Tales Vol. 1-4 then Storm and Shade. I also think you could read Storm then tales. but I think it's more fun in it correct order.

Can't wait for more and I do hope there will be more.

Meh.

Boring. Ghost? Not so much. Teenage girl issues? Tons. Skip this and read something better.
