Experience Star Wars: A New Hope from a whole new point of view.
On May 25, 1977, the world was introduced to Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, C-3PO, R2-D2, Chewbacca, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Darth Vader, and a galaxy full of possibilities. In honor of the 40th anniversary, more than 40 contributors lend their vision to this retelling of Star Wars. Each of the 40 short stories reimagines a moment from the original film, but through the eyes of a supporting character. From a Certain Point of View features contributions by best-selling authors, trendsetting artists, and treasured voices from the literary history of Star Wars:
- Gary Whitta bridges the gap from Rogue One to A New Hope through the eyes of Captain Antilles.
- Aunt Beru finds her voice in an intimate character study by Meg Cabot.
- Nnedi Okorofor brings dignity and depth to a most unlikely character: the monster in the trash compactor.
- Pablo Hidalgo provides a chilling glimpse inside the mind of Grand Moff Tarkin.
- Pierce Brown chronicles Biggs Darklighter's final flight during the Rebellion's harrowing attack on the Death Star.
- Wil Wheaton spins a poignant tale of the rebels left behind on Yavin.
Plus 34 more hilarious, heartbreaking, and astonishing tales from Ben Acker, Renée Ahdieh, Tom Angleberger, Ben Blacker, Jeffrey Brown, Rae Carson, Adam Christopher, Zoraida Córdova, Delilah S. There are stories in here from a ton of angles, including Lando, Yoda, Obi Wan, and Mon Mothra, as well as that red R5 unit who blew up at Uncle Owen's farm and the monster in the trash room. These stories fill out a universe so well fleshed out already. Even things like the stormtrooper bopping his head on the door make sense now.
And the voices. Oh, the voices are so great. This book is just about the perfect book. What a great anthology of the Star Wars Universe's lesser known characters. I not only highly recommend this one but I, myself, will be listening to it several more times in the future.I have a new hope that they will do a project like this for The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi in short order.

If you could sum up From a Certain Point of View (Star Wars) in three words, what would they be?
Fantastic, exciting, AWESOME!!!Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I sat with my mouth open throughout this audiobook. I was too mesmerized to do anything else! The creative back stories of the selected Star Wars supportive characters added a 'flavor' that is true to the original Episode IV. Each of the stories had to have been written by an authentic Star Wars fan as all are truly mind-blowing! And then there is the fact that each story was narrated by a different reader and each seem to be a 'balls-to-bones' Star Wars fans given how well they told their 'assigned' story, how could Audible possibly get any better?Any additional comments?
This is an audiobook joy and thrill for any Star Wars fan. I'm sure to earn the 'Repeat Listener' badge for this one.Every Star Wars fan MUST purchase this audiobook!

What made the experience of listening to From a Certain Point of View (Star Wars) the most enjoyable?
Seeing the many and varied side stories that might have happened in the cracks of A New Hope was a blast. Stories in the Sand, Master and Apprentice, and An Incident Report are fantastic. Time of Death should win an award. How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
I would have made the Boba Fett story longer, and I might have omitted some of the stories. Some were ambling and petered out rather than ended. Others were just completely meaningless. There was one story that I simply could not listen to because the narrator did the entire story in a very strange character's voice. What about the narrators’s performance did you like?
They picked three very good narrators. Thompson, a regular Star Wars audio performer, particularly shines. He's very expressive, and gets engaged in the story like a good reader should. Though he gets few opportunities to showcase his talent in this book, his imitations of the classic Star Wars cast are second to none. Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
This, like a lot of short story collections, is better to listen to one at a time.Any additional comments?
I would recommend this to Star Wars fans who enjoy quirky and dubiously canon side-stories.Some good, some bad.
