About this listen

Everyone knows about Ashburn House. They whisper its old owner went mad, and restless ghosts still walk the halls. They say it's the dwelling place of something cruel and sinister. But when Adrienne, desperate and in need of a place to stay, inherits the crumbling old mansion, she only sees it as a lifeline...until darkness falls.

Strange messages are etched into the walls. Furniture moves when she leaves the room. There's something here—something powerful, angry, and hell-bent on shaking things up. Worse, a grave hidden in the depths of the forest hints at a terrible, unforgivable secret. Eventually Adrienne can't ignore that a twisted thing lives in the house, its hungry eyes ever-watchful. Chasing the threads of a decades-old mystery, it isn't long before she realizes she's become prey to something deeply unnatural and intensely resentful.

She has no idea how to escape. She has no idea how to survive. Only one thing is certain: Ashburn's dead are not at rest.

Not just a ghost story!

Great ghost story with a couple of twists. The Haunting of Ashburn House is not for the faint of heart. Gore, ghosts, murder, & mystery!

Nice bit of Halloween ghost story

Good story, good narration. A cut above most of the recent in the genre

Ashburn House

A little spooky and a lifetime commitment.
The narration was very well done. Eva Kaminsky kept me interested in the story.
I would recommend this to teens and older.

Great story

It did start off slow and it was hard for me to keep going but I forced myself too and finally after chapter 14 it started to get a lot better! There were times I was like oh come on! Common sense which I don’t want to say without giving away the story! But after the answers finally revealed it was like oh okay interesting story! I ended up enjoying it!

Just a fun ghost story!

I couldn’t stop listening to this one. Great ghost story with interesting characters. There is typically an element of the supernatural that can be a bit unbelievable, but this one tied everything together without any plot gaps. I usually prefer British accent narrators, but this narrator was really good. Also, love how Wolfgang the cat was integrated into the story.

It was okay

This story felt very similar to Gallows Hill by the same author this one was very predictable and repetitive. Darcey Coates definitely has better books. The audiobook narrator took loud, audible gasps between every few words, which became pretty nerve-racking, especially with headphones on.

An unexpected haunting!

This story did not go how I anticipated, which to someone who easily guesses endings really enjoyed!
