When Christa joins a tour group heading deep into the snowy expanse of the Rocky Mountains, she's hopeful this will be her chance to put the ghosts of her past to rest. But when a bitterly cold snowstorm sweeps the region, the small group is forced to take shelter in an abandoned hunting cabin. Despite the uncomfortably claustrophobic quarters and rapidly dropping temperature, Christa believes they'll be safe as they wait out the storm.

She couldn't be more wrong. Deep in the night, their tour guide goes missing...only to be discovered the following morning, his severed head impaled on a tree outside the cabin. Terrified, and completely isolated by the storm, Christa finds herself trapped with eight total strangers. One of them kills for sport...and they're far from finished. As the storm grows more dangerous and the number of survivors dwindles one by one, Christa must decide who she can trust before this frozen mountain becomes her tomb.

Several times she had me thinking oh god its this guy! Or that guy! No wait that guy! I have read almost all of her books and i still didn’t have it figured out, maybe it makes me slow but i found the story riveting!

I found the author via a deal from Amazon. I’m very pleased. The book was very entertaining. I look forward to reading more books from this author. Lots of plot twist and turns. Thoroughly enjoyable.

An excellent thriller

I was surprised by this book. I love the mystery/suspense genre but this book although not quite horror is really gory. The story is so good. I won’t say much because what makes this book so good is discovering all the clues thru out until the very end! Character development is amazing. The characters, and there is a whole cast, are well defined and truly understood. But just like Christa you can’t help but question everyone’s guilt or innocence. I was glad to get clarification to so many questions at the end it’s really epic!

Narration is excellent. Emily Ellet is able to give all the characters their own unique voice as well as portray a range of emotions for each. Spectacular narration for Christa who’s inner voice is heard the majority of the book!!

I guessed the killer’s identity within the first hour of reading. Definitely isn’t one of my favorite books I’ve listened to. However, I wouldn’t go as far as to sway people not to listen to it.

I usually pick mystery. This was a little more horror than I am used to. Totally spooked me. A mysterious and horrifying story. Listening while snowed for a few days was my mistake.

This book wasn’t bad but it also was not good. The story got stale and drug on and on. I never felt as though it came to a peak, I was left pretty unsatisfied.
