About this listen

Josie Douglas came to the isolated country cottage with her research, a good alibi, and a gun. She hoped that she'd have enough time to unravel the facts behind the tragedy that, years before, had shattered her life.

Instead, she found herself in a house haunted by its own dark history. A series of strange coincidences, a ghostly visitor, and a mysterious brass key provide Josie with tantalizing clues to a mystery that keeps her guessing at every turn.

Also keeping her guessing is Marc Westbrook, a landlord who embodies the meaning of the term drop-dead handsome. Soon, she'll have to trust him with the secret that drove her into seclusion, a secret that has already cost the life of one man she loved.

Josie & the pussy cat

Good, short story. Not really scary if you were hoping for some scary, more like a Mystery but a pretty good one.The narrator did pretty good especially doing the cat sound effects.Josie had her own Mystery to hide from Mark who works pretty quick in ALL things. The guy doesn't waste time when he wants something whether it's a love affair or information. Seemed to be a bit pushy for a Hero character but Josie falls for him any way.

I really liked it!

This is a very cute story. I really enjoyed it even though it was very predictable. I am a cat lover and the cat in this book was cool. I loved how the author made him almost talk!

I really like this book.

I never understood why people don't like the way the narrators read books . I have never found fault with any narrators. That being said, I enjoyed this book very much. I liked the characters and I really wanted Kay to write more books with Pendragon
in them. Hint, Hint.

Great narration!

Would you consider the audio edition of The Haunting of Josie to be better than the print version?

Can not comment, as I did not read the print version.

What do you think your next listen will be?

anything narrated by Traci Svendsgaard.

Which character – as performed by Traci Svendsgaard – was your favorite?

I thought she did well on all the characters. I feel gender jumping can be tricky for some, but she was very smooth and it was always clear who was speaking.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

sorry - I'm not good with this kind of thing.

Any additional comments?

good book, great Reader!

This is not unabridged?

Really? 'Cause if it's not unabridged, Kay Hooper forgot to write about a third of this book.
Of course, The Haunting of Josie is so cliched, you can fill in the blanks yourself.

I did, however, discover a really fine narrator, Traci Svensgaard, who managed to elevate even the tritest of language (he..."covered her startled lips with his"). Only my enjoyment of her skillful reading sustained me to the end of the book.
