Boring narrator voice

The story was good enough and the narrator put emphasis and concern where it needed to be. But everything was in the same monotone. If there is a different narrator, I'd recommend the story.

Great Story!

Loved the story! Well done! Not excited about the reader. Too breathy, too close to the mic. I just wanted to distance from my iPhone. Couldn’t listen to this on headphones. Too bad but not enough to stop me from listening though. The story is worth it.

great story - BAD Narrator

I must say I agree with most of the other reviews. I enjoyed the story but could barely stand the narrator. only way I could listen to the book was through speakers , not through headphones as with headphones
every mouth noise was Amplified.

Stealing Shadows by Kay Hooper

I read most of this series a few years ago & I’m very happy that they are here on Audible! I can’t wait to get & hear the rest of this series! Good work to the narrator. Hope to hear more of this persons voice on this series…& other authors books. Thank you Kay Hooper for writing these books & allowing them to be heard on Audible!

Sincerely

Good story, bad narration

Would you try another book from Kay Hooper and/or Cristine McMurdo-Wallis?

I would try another Kay Hooper book

What didn’t you like about Cristine McMurdo-Wallis’s performance?

She sounds old for the age of the characters in the book, lots of strange pauses and I didn't care for her interpretation of the characters. She made the book more boring than it really was.

Could you see Stealing Shadows being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

yes

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed the story, I just wish it was a better narrator.

Gotta Go With Great Story, Horrible Narration

What did you love best about Stealing Shadows?

Meeting Bishop. This is my third time thru the series and I must say I still found myself smiling.

What other book might you compare Stealing Shadows to and why?

Probably the Sherlock and Savich FBI series by Catherine Coulter, but I confess I like Bishop and crew better.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

She was annoying. She made Bishop sound like a lispy little girl. It was horrible.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I always do wanna listen to Bishop all the way thru .....

Fantastic "read"

Would you listen to Stealing Shadows again? Why?

Captivating, enthralling, suspense packed, a great ending with a couple of twists. The only criticism i can give this book is that it ended :(
Its always sad when you finish a book you cant put down for the life of you!

A bit too long.

My english does not allow me to write a complicated review but I can tell you that although I found the book a bit too long, it is a good story and I enjoyed listening. Very well narrated as well. So it is worth spending time with.

Enjoyable Psychic Mystery

with a strong romantic element. I like it when an author uses individual character depth and development to show the reader their importance to the story. I think mysteries make that a little trickier and it was done well here. Believable dialog, situations, and conflicts. Decent tension and pacing throughout. Solid mystery. Satisfying ending. The narrator did a good job differentiating between characters. I loved her rendering of the sherif best. I could actually picture him when she read his lines. All these parts added up so well, I was surprised that the whole felt somewhat canned/formulaic (and this coming from someone who reads mostly romances).
