About this listen

They say you never forget your first.

Jagger Cruz, the popular, gorgeous, athletic heartbreaker, was my introduction to college flings.

Over the years, I’ve tried to pay no attention to every wicked rumor I heard about him, even though deep down I knew they weren’t just rumors. Unable to face the consequences of what we’d done, if we were ever in close quarters, I ran in the other direction. If we were coincidentally put in the same class, I dropped it. Avoidance was the name of the game and so far I was winning.

That is, until we’re assigned the same apartment.

Living with Jagger during my last semester was definitely not in my plans, but I’m determined to make it work. As long as I don’t look at him for too long or let his innuendos get under my skin, I should be fine, right? I have to be.

They say hooking up with your roommate can be messy, and losing my heart to Jagger would be disastrous.

Cute book!

I enjoyed this book. There was a lot of miscommunication between the two but that’s to be expected with college age people. Narrators were fantastic!

Worth the listen

Claire Contreras is one of my favorite authors and these tropes are some of my absolute favorites (childhood friends to lovers, mutual pining, one night stand, roommates) This story was just so fun and I loved every minute of it.

Narration: I love both of these narrators, but there is a tiny part of me that thinks that there might have been some even better narrators for this particular story out there (especially since both MCs are Dominican American)

Such A Great Book

I absolutely loved this book. Jagger & Josephine have been crushing on each other since they were kids. They have been forced to hang out together along with their families as their mom's are best friends. Then after taking a jump into the careless waters of the first frat party of Freshman Year, these two become fast enemies after that night, avoiding each other at all costs due to miscommunication and just really not communicating their feelings.

It's now their senior year, Jagger is stressing about possible NFL options after college and an injured shoulder. Jo just ended an almost 3 year relationship with her boyfriend who she found out was a chronic cheater and there is also some secrets she's keeping close.

I love the banter between Jagger & Jo. The sibling relationships they each have is gold!!! This book is about family, loyalty, friends, trust, so much swagger from that sexy Jagger and how awesome Jo is. It's a fun, great read that will have you craving for more from the Cruz brothers. Definitely let The Heartbreaker be your next 1 click!!!

Narration was incredible!

Irritated!

Spoilers ahead…

Cheating trigger: You can make up excuses like Jo and Jagger were supposedly causal or they’d had a fight and had been avoiding each other for a few days or he thought she was on a date with her ex or he was wasted and upset or he only made out with the other woman…but he cheated as I would constitute it. HE. CHEATED. I don’t care what he thought or what it “looked like” when he saw Jo meeting with her ex. I just don’t. The lack of communication and immaturity on both sides was astounding. I don’t want that mess in my romance novels. And Jo is so disappointingly weak over him. He didn’t even have to grovel. How are these reviews so high?!! Waste of my time and money. Good narration is the high point.
