About this listen

She isn’t supposed to be mine.

I am the illegitimate son. Unwanted. Hated. The jealous, possessive villain who once wore the mask of a hero.

Ophelia Hart is the girl next door.

Growing up, I rescued her countless times from my idiot half-brother.

Now, the rivalry between him and me has changed. The stakes are higher. And Ophelia is in danger.

But I’ll be damned if I let him touch her.

She no longer thinks me the hero of her story, though.

She’ll fight me.

I’ll fight for her.

But there comes a time in every man’s life where he must take what he wants.

That time is now.

Because there is no way in hell I will let my half-brother have her.

Interesting Story

Mackenzie and Marcio did a great job at bringing the characters to life; however, the MFC was extremely weak and pathetic; I wanted to light a fire 🔥 under her; they are always the ones who will not listen or comply which usually leads to disaster.

Gripping

I think I have read all Natasha’s books, and by far this was one of her best. I was caught up in the story from the very beginning. The narrators were great. I can’t wait to purchase the 2nd in this series. I was not happy with the last two I purchased that she co-authored, so I only bought the first in this series. Can’t wait to buy & listen to the next.

O. MY Gaaaahhhhwwwddd🪢🪢🪢

Silas & Ophelia: triggers- sexual assault, domestic abuse, child abandonment, embezzlement, cheating (sort of), kidnapping, drugs, arson, RED FLAGS!!!. What in the actual cliffhanger did I just read, because wow?! If you have trust issues, well you can add that to the long list of triggers as well. So far, I only trust one character and that's a bit iffy. Ophelia gives me cause for concern because how can you have your head stuck on the sand all those years and not picked up on anything. She's young, yes and naive but also lacking a bit of common sense. She was all over the place until it was too late and still she's not sure what's going on. I'm so involved in this book, in literally yelling at the audio. There's suspense, mystery and a couple of sexy moments and moments that will have your jaw on the floor. Just when you think the story is going to go one way... BAM! PLOT TWIST 🪢! And there's a couple. Such a good story from start to finish. BTW, this is not a why choose story.
