About this listen

I'm your husband, Chloe. Were a partnership now and we do what's best for us as a couple. Chloe finally feels like she's got her life together. After a difficult childhood and losing both parents, she worked hard for the life she loves in lively Brighton, helping people as a physiotherapist. And then she meets the perfect man.

It's a whirlwind romance, but Dan is handsome, funny, and simply the kindest man she's ever met. When she sees him standing by the altar, tears glistening in his eyes, she knows this will be for always.

As they sunbathe on their honeymoon island, laughing over drinks, planning their future with their feet in the sand, Dan jokes that he'd like them to stay there forever.

At first, Chloe couldn't agree more. It's tempting to imagine truly leaving her troubled past behind. But as the honeymoon goes on, he becomes increasingly adamant. They shouldnt leave. In fact, he wont let her.

An utterly gripping psychological thriller for fans of Gillian Flynn, Clare Mackintosh, and The Wife Between Us.

“The Honeymoon" is written by Rona Halsall and narrated by the talented Naomi Frederick. While it started strong and had me hooked, the plot eventually felt a bit overwrought and progressed at a slower pace than I’d have liked. Also, the female lead, Chloe, didn’t quite resonate with me. Despite this, I remained transfixed with the story and never considered not finishing; I was ecstatic I did as my jaw hit the floor at the welcome finale… As with any book, opinions will vary, and I encourage listeners to form their own. Naomi Frederick’s narration was, as always, top-notch. She's a consistent favorite of mine, and her skillful presentation went above and beyond. Although a few of the subplots were not to my liking, I’m open to exploring more of Rona Halsall’s works in the future. I lucked out and got this title at no cost through my Amazon Music monthly subscription offer.

A decent thriller

The middle drug out so long I was going to quit listening. Main character off putting.

So long

I loved this book I would consider this read or listen as the standard for what a suspense should be. It’s very suspenseful and I recommend this one highly.

The ending was amazing

The worst book I have read in some time. Characters were utterly one dimensional and their actions predictably dumb. Unrealistic plot.

How ridiculously stupid the main character was
