About this listen

Contending valiantly against the Nazi threat in war-torn Europe, two sisters unite to thwart a sinister plan in this third book in Elyse Larson's Women of Valor series.

Uncovering a diabolical Nazi plot, Marge Emerson is secretly reassigned to a medical post in France. There she meets a conscientious objector and finds his outspoken belief in God a challenge to her own fragile faith. When David shares his desire to return to Europe after the war and build an orphanage for Germany's homeless children, Marge is drawn to this selfless, compassionate man. Meanwhile, Marge's sister, a war correspondent, is recruited for intelligence work by an American Secret Service agency and quickly becomes involved in an intricate web of espionage.

When Marge and Em are unexpectedly reunited in France, they attempt a daring rescue. They must try to escape the sinister forces that are closing in on them.

A trilogy of hope!

Reading/listening to the books in the order they were written is essential to seeing the ever present hope in each character. As well as the progression of the war’s impact on different countries. The author is talented and adept at bringing the reader deep into the story. E. Larsen expertly and believably introduces God’s love, forgiveness, and purpose … even in the midst of terrifying challenges.
The narrator also is expertly talented. Her command of accents in many languages allows the listener to be fully immersed in all three books.
Even though death is all around the characters in this 3rd book; each one remains true and constant to his or her personal calling. Whether it be journalism, nursing, priesthood, covert action, and all levels of army’s command.
I highly recommend this 3 part series to anyone who is interested in the courage and faith of men and women who helped win the second WW.

Wonderful story 😃

This the 3rd book in a series. I read the first two quite awhile ago and didn’t read them again before listening to this book. The story could stand on its own but it would have been better if I had read the first two again since they referred to people and events from the other books. Loved the story and it was well read.

Two American sisters in France during WWII

This is the story of two sisters from Oklahoma sent to France during WWII. one sister is a nurse and the other a journalist. Read by a British author. Note, there is significant Christian religion in the book that some may find off putting.

Good story but too much focus on religion

I enjoyed the WWII storyline but found the insertion of the religious aspect off-putting. I likely wouldn’t have purchased it if I’d realized this focus.

Enjoyed this book very much

Lots of surprises as the book moved along. I had a few times where I listened to a few extra chapters so I wouldn't miss anything!

Courage and God's Love

Outstanding story of 2 sister's dedication to others through their growing faith. Loved it! The author created characters rich in personality and purpose, a nurse and journalist experiencing the terrors of the front lines. The narrator brought the story to life and skillfully added validity to the adventure.
I haven't enjoyed a book more in quite some time!
